"our own counsel will we keep"

Ok,
there was something a while back, I know To was involved in this.
It's about the line "my own council will I keep on who is ready"

Well, Yoda said "our own council will we keep on who is ready" in TPM and he said in ESB "my own council will I keep on who is ready"

So they are re-using lines, and I didn't know!!! 😠
Can this bring on new light for that discussion?

It's COUNSEL! Not Council! As in advice, not a body of councillors.

He does indeed repeat the line, though, as I pointed out to To in that thread.

Well, one thing. My whole point to my argument was the Yoda is the head of the Jedi, not Mace.

Well it seems that Mace is in TPM, but towards the end it is Yoda who makes the decisions.

No. Counsel and council are entirely different words. Look them up. And feel free to check the scripts.

Well, I have always been surprirsed that some people were confuseds by this.

"I will keep my own counsel" is a classic literary phrase, almost a cliche.

"I will keep my own council" is almost meaningless.
