I think it's more or less common knowledge that there, at some point, is some kind of a show down between Obi-Wan and Annakin, that leaves Annakin in a barely human state. It's popular belief that this occurs on/in a volcano - most episode 3 fan art tends to depict this image/scene.

True...the very fact that most believe that it will be a volcano probably rules out a volcano...does that make any sense?

Lucas may change this to set Star Wars apart from another popular film trilogy, the climax of which will also feature a volcano. Just a thought... not speculation Kane, not a recommendation either - just a realistic possibility given the two movie franchises are now unfurling (to cinema-goers) simultaneously.
