Aragorn/Strider

Whenever I read the books, I always find the transition from Strider to Aragorn difficult -- he is always Strider to me. however, in the films I never even considered him to be strider -- he was Aragorn all along.

Did anyone else find this?

hmm yeah in films
barliman called him strider
one of the hobbits called him strider on weathertop
sam called him strider when they left bree,
thats about all i can think of.....the rest of the times he was aragorn...

Hmmm I guess Tolkien never really have the audience needing to know that Strider is Aragorn and you must think of him as Aragorn. We can think of it either way, but we have to know that Strider is only a Dunedain ranger and Aragorn is the heir of Gondor.

aragorn has many names: strider elfstone, elesser,ect...and he is called something dif in dif regions of M:E

Yeah

Aragorn
Elfstone {Elessar}
Estel {Hope}
Strider
Wielder of the Flame of the West

All that stuff

when we first saw him in the FOTR he was somewhat a myserious character but once they left Bree he didnt seem much of a "rough dude" strider type,

Discos -perhaps except when he said "into the wild"
