My Rap to Hockey:

Later my man, you keep doing your thing
Talking bout hip-hop and shitty mainstream bling
We'll all be here, keeping this thread alive
HockeyHorror is gone, but rap will continue to thrive
Maybe one day i'll be a good mc
Until then i'm just a kid trying to make my message reality
Hockeyhorror be sure to come back
Decembers too long, make sure not to slack
While i was here i learned some of the underground
Immortal Technique is great, Revolutionary Volume 1
I'll keep searching for the best rapper of all
When i find that track, i'll give ya'll a call.

peace man

Two albums for ya. One new and the other one is a classic. Enjoy.

Now I know people here like hip-hop, express some opinions people. Don't be scared. Want new music. Change is good.

and why doesn't Madsci ever say anything? I know you have some things to say and you know hip-hop. Don't be shy.

ask and you shall receive. what is up my fellow hip hop heads. i've been down in the basement contending with family, work, and more recently, school. occasionally, i duck my head in the forums, but not too much lately.

of course i have things to say, but i feel like a broken record when i chastise young whippersnappers who don't know the true path. anyways, has anyone listened to radio recently? i actually stopped playing the cd in my deck ("green" by lord quas, by the way), just to see what was going on in radioland, and do you know what i heard? i heard eminem on a lil' john track. i'll say no more, other than i was pissed at myself for silencing "the unseen." such blasphemy.

keep the hope alive,
keep fighting the fine fight,
and thanks for thinking of me.

peace
madsci

New Doom!!! Can't F*ckin' wait.

Underground hip-hop icon MF Doom has signed a new deal with his current label, Rhymesayers, which will make the labelheads his new managers. So now, in addition to releasing most of Doom's future albums, Rhymesayers will also take over planning of the Metalhead's touring and merchandising. Merchandising... plushie Dooms? Viktor Vaughn action figures? Madvillain comic books? Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Rather, the first release under the new contract will be MM Food, Doom's first album not released under the guise of one of his many alter-egos since his 2001 debut, Operation Doomsday.

Additionally, Rhymesayers has also secured a brand new distribution deal: MM Food, along with all other Rhymesayers releases, will now be handled by The Navarre Corporation-- so when the highly anticipated new album finally drops on November 16th, you won't have to wait an extra couple days for that package to arrive from Sandbox Automatic. Rhymesayers' decision to go with Navarre went beyond the scope of their simple distribution, according to the label's President and CEO: "Not only are [Navarre] based in our hometown of Minnesota but they are also a true independent distributor which was extremely appealing to us as a self-made independent label." (Wait, Minnesota is a town now? Are we losing the war to Canada?) Preorders for the new album will begin October 24th.

Now, Doom understands that his fans are just sitting around with their silver masks on, waiting super impatiently for the release of MM Food-- particularly since Venomous Villain left something to be desired. So he's gonna make a concession: "Hoecakes". Yes, the album's first single is set to precede the release of MM Food, and will come backed with a B-side titled "Potholders", as well as an Anticon remix of the title track. Though no official release date has been confirmed, Rhymesayers is planning to issue it sometime next month.

Yep read an interview with Doom about MM Food the other week. He said it's probably his best record yet, but I doubt he'll ever better Vaudeville Villain. IMO that is.

I think it'll be better than Vaudeville Villain, but it wont be better than his best album, Operation: Doomsday. I've had the MM Food advance, but I read that the retail's gonna be a lot different. The advance is great though, so I can't wait!

I haven't heard anything, so I'll take your word on that for now.

Personally I found Doomsady a little disappointing. I liked it a lot, but it never grabbed me like VV did. Still anything Doom touches turns to gold (with the exception of Take Me To Your Leader) so I got high hopes.

The advance has been on slsk for months, you should check it out.

Vaudeville is nothing compared to Doomsday. Doomsday is probably the best underground album ever, and one of the greatest hip-hop albums period. Even the most stubborn hip-hop heads can't deny the brilliance of Doomsday.

New Jedi Mind Tricks. Hurry up and grab it. If it's gone, it's gone and I probably wont put it back up. Enjoy.
