I prefer The True Meaning to The Realness, I'd probably consider both classics. There isn't a Nas track out there with a better beat than Verbal Graffiti.
Saying that though, Illmatic & It Was Written > Cormega's career.
I'm a huge fan and I think he's criminally underrated, and as a lyricist he very nearly matches Nas in his prime, but yeah.

somethings NAS have that these rappers doesnt:
1. Illmatic
2. 2 classic albums
3. probably the illest compilation album of unreleased joints (lost tapes)
4. goat status (kool g. rap, rakim, saigon and many others cosigned this)
5. kony status (1994)
6. best lyricist status (91-96 era... the "golden era" in my opinion)
7. best catalog
8. 15 years in the game and still relevant... WOW! (and not on that LL cool j shit)
9. genuine street respect and affection
10. plat status on every album
11. rewind, one mic, i gave u power, take it in blood, who killed it... too many ill shit to note
damn theres too much shit to list
this dude nas is just a class above these niggas... no disrespect
and altho i feel that mcs like GZA, daddy kane, common, kweli, g. rap are on the same level lyrically with nas... (maybe GZA even lyrically better) theres just too many factors that puts nas ahead of these rappers... flow, creativity, versatility, subject matter... lyrics are not everything in hiphop' word if f'n bond
in fact... nas and genius should pay hiphop respect and battle each other! just meet up on CP or wherever and start spittin bars... damn that would be some ill shit... but nas better get his shit written tho
payce!
