Saw Jedi Mind Tricks in London last night, best hip-hop show I've been to. You can say what you like about Vinnie, but he knows how to get a crowd jumping, all that aggression from the albums is magnified tenfold in person. And he seems a genuinely nice guy too.

Also, check this guy out, seriously. He was the last support act on last night, and he's absolutely mindblowing. Every bit of studio music he makes comes from his mouth, from the kicks and bass, to the instruments. Some of the stuff he was doing last night was ridiculous, at one point he was doing the beat, bassline, ''trumpet'' and SINGING all at the same time.

Mostly VBD stuff, with three or so tracks each from VOG, LOB and Servants (although they were good ones). They also did 'Tear It Down' by AOTP and a couple of Outerspace collabs (Crypt the Warchild was on stage with Vinnie). No Pyscho-Social stuff, which didn't suprise me. Vinnie doesn't like that album.

It was awesome though, best hip-hop show I've been to easily (I don't say that lightly, I saw El-P and Cage last year) even with the lack of Stoupe. Was crazy violent at times, especially during 'Gengis Khan' and 'Heavenly Divine'.

Sorry to break it to you guys, but Cann Ox is no mo

Is there a new Can Ox album coming out any time soon?

El: I really doubt it.

Really?

El: The fact of the matter is that everyone has been crossing their fingers, including Def Jux, hoping that Cannibal Ox would get their shit together as a group, even to the point where I resigned them. I really hoped and prayed that they would get their shit together, thought they were at a certain juncture in time. At this point I can’t pretend anymore or cover for those guys. They haven’t been together for a long time, but they tried to get it back together again, but it’s proving to be an impossible task.

That breaks my heart.

El: You’re not the only one buddy.

This is the worst news ever.

wow... i don't get it.... do they not like each other or something?

thats too bad, but the second one would have always been a disappointment anyways.

how do you spell disappoinment? is that it? too many p's perhaps?

^^that's what i was thinking

the part about their second album, not your inability to spell.

Don't you guys spell color incorrectly too?

The expectations are way too high for it not to be a "disappointment", but it still would have been dope as f@ck. What a shame.

That sucks a big one. At least the new Dalek album is awesome. Oktopus is a monster on the production side.

Vast has emphasised on countless occasions that they're more than just a hip-hop duo, they're like brothers, so I don't know. I bet it's something to do with Vordul though, he's never been as tight with the rest of the Jukies as Vast is. Nowhere near as vocal either.

Anyway, I'm pretty devastated. Even though I don't think they could ever have topped The Cold Vein, I feel like we've been robbed of something really, really special. R.I.P. Cannox. El, get on and hook up a proper Def Jux Vast solo.

Nah.

I'll somehow reform Cannibal Ox, get them to reform somehow.

Haven't heard the new El yet, so I can't comment but don't sleep on the new Dalek. It's an amazing album.

I'm a Dalek fan and I like the album. It's different from Negro Necro Nekros, From Filthy Tongue of Gods and Griots, and Absence but just as good if not better.

Coincidence that they're on Mike Patton's label?

I saw them open for Mike Patton's Fantômas once, they weren't all that good...but I like their albums.
