I can't stand him or the school he comes from.

Walking around with a backpack, specs and "normal" clothing doesn't make you an intellectual or varied artist. Chicks dig him, though, so I don't think he cares.

We already have a Kanye West that sucks, we don't need more people like him.

Kanye West is irrelevant now, granted, but The College Dropout is a classic album. Late Registration is very good as well. Graduation and 808 & Heartbreaks were "meh" for me. Kanye is an aweswome producer.

Cudi isn't a West clone. His style is unique(won't call it original b/c I don't know shit about this particular genre of music; emo? alternative?). West was a more capable lyricist from what I've heard from Cudi so far.

As I previously stated, MOTM has awesome production. Besides Relapse, I can't remember an album with beats that come close to this. I do think he is varied obviously and his debut album had content.

I do think the comparisons to Lupe and Kanye are overrated though. Lupe is a great rapper and Kanye at one time was as well. As I already stated, Cudi isn't a great rapper. He did, however, make a great album. Whether you call MOTM "rap", is your opinion. It is great, though, IMO.

cuban linx 2 could've been a classic if only it had more ghost and less raekwon

anyone else looking out for the new reflection eternal? some of the shit from their mixtape (the reunion) was pretty good, but i'm looking at the track list for the album and i only recognize the song with jay electronica and mos def (good song). dunno about the rest of the album though, talib is real hit or miss. he showed good judgement with the last mixtape but half the shit i liked on it was other rappers that he featured (styles p, ghostface, nas) and none of em are on this album.

here's the track list for the album

Can you guys recommend any good horrorcore rap?

"Good" "horrorcore"?

If such a genre existed, I doubt there'd be anything good in it.

Yes, I'm aware the label exists. I just don't recognise it as legitimate.

R.I.P. to Guru.

What a shame.

-AC

what's really a shame is how solar used guru's death to get on the soap box and try to make a little name for himself

he's dragging guru's name through the dirt in the process, and making his death about all the rumors and gossip rather than the legacy he left behind

RIP Guru

So young.

Anyone check out the Black Keys album 'Brother', not hip hop, but great stuff. On my buy list.

I'm hungry for something new from Pacewon and Mr. Green, anyone know if a new album is in the works?

'Only Number That Matters if One'

Still in progress I think.

I'm hearing word about Detox. Apparently Jay-z is on it.

Shouldn't Detox be a westcoast album?

I lol'd

"tha gravediggaz", their first album. Best horrorcore album ever made. the group "Flatlinerz" were good too. especially that song "satanic versus" off that 1st album.

I'm not sure if i would put "Blac Monks" 1st album in that genre but some of their songs had a horror element to 'em.

Eminem's new album Recovery so far is incredible. 👆

Seems I slept on this......

Just listened to Kno- Death is Silent

****ing incredible. Gonna place an order for the album tomorrow.

Long time no post... that Kno album is incredible, possibly best of 2010. It's like the ultimate conclusion of the sound CL were going for circa A Piece of Strange.

Anyone heard this yet: ?

Gonna cop it asap anyway due to the stellar guests and producers (Blue Sky Black Death), but from the snippets I've heard it sounds a bit noisy and over-produced, AOTP style.

What y'all got on that Wiz Khalifa?

Not a Virtuoso fan, but I'll probably check it out eventually.

I like the 'Black and Yellow' single, but I didn't like his mixtape at all.

Ehhh I didn't think Black and Yellow was all that hot when I heard it; or the mixtape either really either.

Some of his better songs:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFsQO58BWLI <---- that one's good.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3MIHfZxIdQ <---- This one's old school

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mZQEAEPpgU <------ This one's intro changes volume, always kind of annoyed me, but so far the best song I've heard him put out.
