Basically, the Tri-Wizard Challenge was a compition between three schools with three events. Someone else can explain it better

Wait, has someone here not read the 4th book? The Triwizard Tournament was a tournament held by three schools. Hogwarts, Durmstrang, and Beauxbatons. They used to have them every few years or so, but the death-toll rose so high that they stopped. They tried to get it back up and going a few times before, but finally they started the tournament again. A champion is selected from each school to represent it. Harry was the "4th champion." It had always been a tradition to "cheat." The heads of the schools (not Dumbledore) would always try to get a peak on what the task was going to be to help their school champion. There are three tasks and in each task each champion is award points on how well each judge feels he/she preforms. In the end, I think the person to reach the trophy, no matter what the task is, wins the tournament. Is that explained well enough?

Griffendor has to specify what the tasks will be on the tri.

well maybe just an inter house long triwiz tourney. well it is gryffindor's turn. i guess they can come up with all the tasks themselves or pick and choose from different houses, ay?
