Coy means shy, or stand-offish, but not in a rude way.

Say for instance some chick was majorly coming onto you, and you liked her, but didn't want her to know straight away, you'd change the subject, make irrelavant comments, generally keep your distance, but still give her the vague idea that you have a spark of interest there. It's an art form. ✅
