morning everyone! 😄
okay, so i was rummaging through my stuff and i found this story that i've been working on. my so-called "novel." haven't written anything in a year, literally. anyway, i went back and started reading it and i feel like rewriting the entire thing. this is what i have so far...
Okay, I admit it. The wound wasn’t life-threatening or as serious as some of the other injuries I’ve endured in my years of hunting vampires, but having a shard of broken windshield shoved into your right shoulder is still painful. I mean, really painful.
Bracing myself, I pulled the shard free and let out an uncontrollable cry. Throwing it aside, I scanned the parking lot. All i saw were rows of parked cars. Not a soul.
The smell of blood brought my attention back to my injury. Gently and smoothly I slid off my jacket and exposed the wound. I cringed at the sight of torn flesh, oozing blood, and loose skin. Okay, that was definitely not good.
A trickle of blood ran down my back.
Ignoring my nausea, I retrieved the knife protruding from the lifeless vampire sprawled on the ground next to me and wiped the blade clean.
I knew what I had to do. But somehow, I couldn’t.
Damn it, Serenity! I told to myself. Just do it! I looked down. Then glanced at my knife. I can’t. I can’t do it.
For a minute, I just sat there in the middle of the parking lot, contemplating the heavy decision I was about to make.
No, I’m not doing it. I refuse.
Letting out a frustrated sigh, I ignored that last thought.
Realizing I had no other choice, I took the knife and reluctantly began cutting strips of cloth from my jeans. They were from Abercrombie and Fitch, okay. I did not pay sixty dollars just to have them shred to pieces.
Yea, it's a semi-sci fi, it takes place in an alternate present, where scientists have no conscience whatsoever, and more or less created, breeded, and then let loose a species called the Surge...the Surge refer to themselves as the Prophesized Ones, they seem themselves as holy creatures...blah blah 😛
