*are we gonna do this individually or ask a person to put it together for the house?

Ad*1) -- Suggestions so far:
Dolphins
Ravens
Cats
Eagles
Owls
A Phoenix
...?

I like the phoenix a lot! I think a dolphin would be hard, ravens...is that too obvious? We might just have to add it, and cats are good too, and so are eagles...and owls...wow, lots of good choices!

You're right, Ravens would probably be a little obvious 😆
But the same goes for an eagle as actually an eagle, not a raven is the animal of our house 😉

Ok... some random facts about some of those animals...

The raven/crow is one of the most intelligent birds and in mythology connected to a lot of different ideas; he's the bird of the dead or "soul-bird", often a companion or incarnation of [especially norse and celtic] gods, like Odin, and also appears in connection with prophecy and the future in general. A typical gift of black magicians is to turn themselves or others into ravens; in Persia, ravens were seen as incarnations of wisdom.

As they are most active at night, owls in mythology usually appear as demonic birds, companions or heralds of witches or physical shape of wood-spirits; their sad cries are interpreted as bad tidings (an owl's cry during daytime was said to predict a great fire).
In Ancient Greece, they were (like ravens in Persia) incarnations of wisdom and sacred to the intelligent goddess Athene (--that's the same as roman Minerva, like McGonagall... sad that she isnt head of our house ^^)

Then.. ehm... the Phoenix... originally from orientalic mythology... burns itself and rises from the ashes etc... a holy animal in ancient egypt, connected to the sun-god Re and later Osiris because of his brilliant feathers... tutelary spirit for 😑 jubilees... hence the idea of his immortality... also the paradise-bird and symbol of resurrection... in China symbol of luck... healing tears 😐

The cat... first domesticated in egypt, there holy symbol and incarnation of the moon-goddess Bastet, often lived in temples, their always independant character and intelligence inspired loads of philosophers and poets, like the ravens they're connected to the gift of prophecy, probably because of their extremely fine senses and their ability to feel earthquakes, storms etc earlier than humans... in the middle-ages rather feared than admired, said to be a companion of witches and bring bad luck to those who welcome them... umm... yes 😬

Dont know much about dolphins in mythology... fact is that they're one of the most intelligent and socially organized animals... in the mythology of mediterranean regions there are several stories where dolphins are turned into humans or humans into dolphins, they are always represented as friends and supporters though they're actually very efficient killers...

No idea about eagles.

Not really ideal for a wallpaper, I think, but still extremely intelligent... rats 😄 very social, clever and organized animals, pretty docile... bad luck that they're responsible for the spreading of several diseases especially in the middle-ages, especially of course the plague 😂

ATTENTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay Students, I have a BRAND new idea. First off, a few announcements:

* The new Witch/Wizard of the Week has been PM'ed and I am awaiting their response, so that's taken care of.

* The newest challenge is still continuing, but I think the Slytherin's need to come up with a date for it to end. Just to keep us motivated.

* If you haven't chosen an Official Title for your house, please do so to show your house's spirit! I posted ideas in everyone's common room. When you have one, you can put the glow on and put it in your sig.

Okay, now for the good stuff. I am in the midst of planning our 1st Annual Inter-House Challenge Dance. It's been a llllooooooonnnnnnggggg time since we've had our last party, so I've decided that this would be a good thing to do.

I'm not sure exactly WHEN this dance will occur .. . maybe after everyone's done with this challenge. But it's defaintly something to look forward to.

The dance will occur in Hogwarts Cafe, naturally. So be looking for a date everyone!!! This should prove to be fun. Me and hopefully Tassie, will be chaperoning, so no kissing behind the bushes!

This should prove to be fun. 💃 🤣 💃
