Hufflepuff's Entry
August 24th
Our plans for Hogwarts are all going about wonderfully! Everything is going just how we planned! The only fault, I feel, is that Rowena, Godric and Salazar each demand that the students accepted into their houses have the qualities they request. Rowena wants those who are smart and hard working, while Godric wants those who are brave and daring. Salazar wants only purebloods and will take no muggle-borns at all. I now feel it is my job to take those that the other houses refuse. All those talented witches and wizards will not go to waste! I will accept them into my house and teach them as well as treat them all the same. They will learn that only together will we all achieve our goals.
November 12th
Everything has worked out absolutely fine until now. Salazar and Godric have had a fight! Neither I nor Rowena know what this fight is about. It does seem to be quite serious but nothing that time cannot fix. Rowena and I are trying our best to keep out of their way for now so that they can realise their faults on their own. I just wish they would hurry up…
November 20th
I fear my prediction was wrong. At least for now it is. At the moment, they will not even greet each other let alone discuss their situation in a civil manner. Salazar has even threatened to leave us. That is something I most definitely won’t let happen! I must try and talk some sense into the both of them! I just hope with all my might that they see sense before something rash happens!
November 28th
Something very odd happened today. One of our students...one of Godric's students to be exact, died. She was found stone cold in one of the deserted classrooms by a student in Rowena's house. I cannot imagine who or what caused this. The student informed Rowena and we were all called to a meeting. On seeing the body I broke down in tears and kneeled down next to her. I could see that everyone was disturbed and upset...everyone except Salazar. He seemed absolutely calm...as if nothing was wrong. I even saw the corners of his mouth twist into a smile for a second. Maybe...just maybe this was Salazar's doing. No! I must not think that way...Salazar would never do that to an innocent child! I am just jumping to conclusions. It is not fair to judge Salazar like that. No one could be as cruel to do such a thing...
November 30th
I woke up this morning to find a letter in the staff room. There was nothing written on the envelope so I decided to open it. Inside was a letter from Salazar informing us he has left and will not be coming back. He has taken every belonging of his with him and has left nothing except one thing, which will remain in the school forever, waiting for his true heir to open it. It is a chamber hidden within the school walls. He did not state where this chamber is located. He said that a monster lives within the chamber, only to be allowed out when his heir opens the chamber.
I fear for the safety of the children. A monster? Surely he is just trying to scare us! Salazar would never put the children of Hogwarts in danger…would he? But mostly I fear for Hogwarts…can we still keep the doors open without Salazar? I just hope…all I can do is hope…
Ravenclaw's Entry
"Hello there, I'm Divina Crabbworthy, and you're listening to the Wireless Wizarding Network. That was a new group called 'Warlocks Wand'. Up next we have a special treat. We have an interview with the one and only Rowena Ravenclaw. One of the founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry."
"Well Divina, I have to say that it feels wonderful. I have always dreamt of starting a school for witches and wizards. When we started Hogwarts, we hoped that it would be successful, and that it would unite the wizarding community. It is wonderful that young witches and wizards have the opportunity to learn together, and to actually gain qualifications."
“Yes indeed. I hear that each of the founders has their own house, and they personally select the students that they wish to admit? Is this true?”
“I suppose it is, Godric chooses the bravest students, Helga has the hard-workers, Salazar chooses only pure-bloods, and I admit those who are particularly clever.”
“Right. And can you tell me how you felt when you were starting the school. Any particular worries you had? Any difficulties that you had to overcome?”
“Well, I was a bit worried that the school wouldn’t be successful. I mean it was a huge responsibility, actually teaching magic to others. I suppose the whole time I was nervous and excited, but the others were great. Especially Helga. We became really close. Whenever I had a problem I knew that I could turn to her.
We were lucky I suppose, we didn’t really have any difficulties when we started. We had a great location, and we all got along well together, and agreed on the plans.”
“I notice you say that to begin with you didn’t have any problems”
“Well in the beginning we didn’t. It was later on that the arguments started. It was mainly between Salazar and the rest of us. He didn’t feel that we should let in those of muggle-parentage. He wanted to only admit pure-bloods.”
“You speak of him in the past tense. Does that mean it’s true that Salazar is no longer at the school?”
“I’m afraid so. As I have already said, he preferred to allow only pure-bloods to enter. He didn’t like the fact that we were letting in those with muggle-parentage. Things got worse and worse until he left. But like we pointed out to him. We have to accept those who are muggle-born. If not, the wizarding community will die out.”
“That is so true. So tell me, what about this secret chamber that Salazar claims to have made?”
“Well as to that, there is no evidence. The school has been well and truly searched and nothing has been found. Personally I think it was just Salazar wanting to get people worried.”
“Ok. Now we have some questions that were sent in by our listeners. Abner Combford wishes to know which subjects you would choose if you could have attended Hogwarts when you were young?”
“That’s a hard one, um, I suppose I would have taken Numerology, Divination and um, probably Care of Magical Creatures.”
“Really? Ok, Sandy Salaman wondered if you were an animagus, which animal would you change into, and why?”
“Oooh, that’s an easy one. It would most definitely have to be a Raven, because they are graceful, intelligent and extremely beautiful.”
“Right, and a final question. This one’s from Poppy Hartstring. She wanted to know what is your proudest moment?”
“My proudest moment? Well I have more than one. Is that ok? One was where I first managed to apparate. A second was when Hogwarts finally opened. And I think my proudest was when my daughter, Reyana, recently graduated from Hogwarts, and received 8 ‘outstanding’ at OWL level.”
“I’m sure they were all great moments. Pass on my congratulations to your daughter. Thank you for coming on to speak to us today, and I wish you and Hogwarts all the best. I hope that it continues to be the successful wizarding school that it is today.”
“For anyone who has just tuned in, you are listening to the Wireless Wizarding Network. We have just been speaking to Rowena Ravenclaw. One of the founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Tomorrow we will be speaking to Helga Hufflepuff, another of the founders. Up now, is the ‘Moonlight Werewolves’.”
