Plastic Surgeons? do you consider them as Physicians

Questions on Medicine Career

do you guyz consider plastic surgeons as physicians?

can u guyz help me out with some questoins. like i said before im thinkin about going in the medicine field but i dont know what path i want to pick. there are soo many fields in medicine. from cardiology to oncology to pathology to gynecology(lol). any ways to help me out? and how long do you think it would take to become a phsycian of any kind?

Plastic surgeons physicians? Depends how the ply their trade! If they use their skills to help badly disfigured people then yes if they use them to make lots of money by making woman in funny lookin mannequins then no.

I dont know about the States here in the UK it takes about 6 years to qualify as a doctor and then you can specialise in the field of your choice.

6 years AFTER college/university to become doctor?

Yup, its hell but well paid when you've done!

(Oh and don't forget sweet, innocent, impressionable student nurses they're always a bonus....)

thats true^

hmmm but i still dont know what path in medicine...surgery..gp..etc etc

i think it's like 6-8 years here in the states...

6-8 years AFTER college/university or are you counting college/university in the 6-8 years?

6-8 years in U.S.A depend on how you serve for the years if you serve good youll need to serve 6 years bad - 8 years.

what do you mean how you serve? quality? or how fast u finish?

lol i guess you have thought hard about this.

My girlfriend in a Med student she is in her final year of med school which is a 4 year course she then will have to choose a specialized area in medicine which can take a further 2 years.

She is choosing Pediatrics i guess she loves kids 🙂

ok what about just a regular General Physcian. how long would that take?

Still takes a good bit of time, or so I'm told 😬

The human body is a complex thing

Furthermore, regular ol' physicians don't get paid a whole lot, if money is important to you. If money is really an issue to you, be a surgeon, you greedy bastard. Though I must warn you, my uncle is a surgeon (uh... what's it called... the thing where they fix people's arteries and veins and such up so they don't have heart attacks), and he's literally almost never home. Works something like six to nine, almost every day.

no i dont care much about money. cuz im in a Health Career Focus Program at school and i just want to continue in the field.

wheather you agree or not that plastic surgeons are "helpful" doctors, they are physicians. They have to go through medical school and residency just like all of the the other doctors.they have to know just as much as all of the doctors as well. now, wheather or not they are doing it to help the people with their appearences or just out for the money(well who isn't these days?) that is merely an opinion.
