Funny how this article, found by this askjeeves.com site, says what we have been saying all along, that Leatherface is based loosely on on Ed Gein (who also inspired some of Silence of the Lambs and Psycho). He did not wield a chainsaw. No TCM really happened!

This has been answered substantially, there was NO real leatherface. Regaurdless of what you may read on an internet site, Tobe Hooper has said that the story of TCM came from his mind and is loosely LOOSELY based on Ed Gein. I trust him more then a website that has no affiliation with the film..
