Oh man, maybe its a spoiler alert, or maybe its already been show, I dunno..
. . .
But seriously, WTH, as if they could get in the White house. As if they could even get NEAR it. What a load of crap. As soon as they entered, they would've been spotted on surveillance cams, and there would've been a storm of agents eavily armed (not a pistol).
And Jack is a total dim wit. He opened the door. For someone who supposedly knows sacrifices have to be made to do whats right, he sure didn't act that way when he felt the daughter's life was more important. He would also have known that the terrorists would kill everyone there anyway. Makes no sense...
They better have a extremely clever plot to fix this...
Jack was given a direct order by the president. He had to obey. He was in enough trouble as it was.
I hated how weak they made the secret service look. They fell one by one too easily. I know they were caught by surprise but at least make them react in a more efficient manner.
I wonder how many dumb@$$ terrorists saw the episode and thought it would be that easy to get in the White House.
Overall, great 2 hours. I was hooked the whole time.

So... its still totally out of character for Jack. It wouldn't have been the first time he has defied a presidential order. If Jack could ever justify his past insubordination, he would have no problem doing so if he decided not to open that door. He pretty much killed her by opening that door. The hostages were going to die anyway, the terrorists know they aren't getting out of there alive and will take them all with them.
Of course, we know it will all work out, but theres no way Jack would've known that.

"Do you have children Jack?"
"Could you do what you're asking me to do?"That's what made him open the doors.
So what. He is not the president like he pointed out. She is too important, and Jack knows this.
Also, Jack only cares about what is good for the country. When Michelle escaped from capture, Jack made her get recaptured again so they can take down the main terrorist. Almeida was against this and he pointed out to Jack if it was her wife he wouldn't have Michelle get recaptured. Jack wouldn't hear it.

Somewhat Spoilers From Ausiello Reports (EW.com)
Question: 24 was crazy this week! Any scoop on what may happen next week? --Jessica
Ausiello: A longtime and much loved character will die while trying to save President Taylor.Question: I absolutely love Renee Walker and President Taylor from 24! They are such amazing women! What intel do have on them? --Caroline
Ausiello: Agent Walker will get Jack clearance to torture Ryan Burnett, but my gut tells me one of Jon Voight's goons will get to the blabbermouth first. Meanwhile, the Prez's daughter, Olivia, shows her true colors to Ethan, and their confrontation leaves him a wee bit shaken. Methinks we've got another Sherry Palmer on our hands. Scratch that, meknows.
