Kingdom of Heaven

I didn't like this movie at all. There were two parts that were sad, obviously 'cos the girl I was seeing at the time was crying! I love films like this but it just had loads of scenes and dialogue that doesn't really need to be in it. Also the fighting scenes are rubbish! Only one part had some good original special visual effects but nothing that can make up for the film. Also I just want to point out that they had orchestrated music from the Hannibal movie on this. Talk about originality! They should of made it at least entertaining, maybe it could of then saved it.

Alright someone I know wanted to point out a muscular guy with long blonde hair and I've never seen the movie so I MUST know who this is. Anyone have any idea? Pictures?

Who?

.......that's the whole point of my posting that question, to find out.

And you expect the answer with the vaguest description imaginable?

Well have you even seen this movie? Are there more than one long blonde haired guys that are muscular in KOH? If so, well the only other thing I know is that he had an arrow shot in his neck and he pulled it out and continued to fight until he was decapitated. That's all I know.

It's a historical epic. They're all muscular and wear there hair long.

But I do have the Director's Cut, and I will have a look for you.

Thank you.

Kingdom of Heaven

This is another great film by sir Riddly scott (Directors cut) but people where dissapointed with the first cut. when it first came out i found it a drag it was long and borring i was expecting something like lotr. Then we got a Directors cut by Riddly which makes the story so much better.

Kingdom of heaven is about one man's struggle to better himself and the world around him.

If you havent seen it its on this sunday C4 9PM

I like it better than Gladiator, even if Orlando Bloom comes up a bit short in the hero role.

But I'm sure there is already a thread on this.

I found it a little disappointing. I'm a great Ridley fan, it looks superb, but somehow it didn't work too well, storywise. I think Gladiator is way better, especially because of all the unuttered backstory brooding all over the place. There's a lot under the surface that we feel boiling everywhere, very much like Blade Runner that.
I felt KoH fell a bit short on that. Nice shots but... what's it about?

It's a great movie but not as good as Gladiator but it was better then Troy.

Hmm.. I'd say a tie.

300 was the shiznizzle van hizzle!

Oh yes.

300>>>>>>>>>>Gladiator>>>>>>>Troy>>>>>>Kingdom on Heaven. Loved 300 and Gladiator. Brad Pitt was pretty good in Troy, but Orlando Bloom just stunk up the place in Kingdom of Heaven. Story wise, that could have been way better than what was shown on screen.

300 was shocking. Troy reaks of mediocrity. Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven? Two edges of the same side for me, although Kingdom of Heaven seems to 'ave a lot more going on under the surface for me.

I think bloom did an ok job. I would have rather seen the story written to fit an older lead. Although, the story and characters developed well. The writing felt felt like a slapdash production. It is still a really good movie, especially the directors cut. I still prefer Gladiator to kingdom. Did Zimmer score kingdom?

No, his protege Harry Gregson-Williams. But clearly Ridley had a big say in it.

The actual Balian that Orlando Bloom's Balian was based on was in fact a great deal older, especially during the siege of Jerusalem an' that.

It would have been another part built for Russel Crowe really, but you can understand why Ridley Scott didn't have him as both Maximus Decimus Whateveus and Balian, as well as Robin Hood.
