I'm not in to them really...I've watched them before and I remember some funny moments (like when one of the ladies bra flew off when they were exercising at the camp), but I'm not that much a fan....

britain is the best 😄 we invented TV

Well said me ol' chap.

^ditto

British comedy all the way 😆

whats everyones opinion on steve coogan of alan partridge fame's new comedy, saxondale?

I go for British comedy over American. This is speaking generally. American comedies are usually quantity over quality while British comedies are quality over quantity. Though I do like more American sitcoms than British.

No competition. British.

we have Dave chappelle, Jim carry and the Wayans brothers.......... and Madea 😆

British is so awesome we have blackadder, gavin and stacey, black books, fawlty towers, only fools and horses, mr bean the list is endless

When a British comedy is good, it's very good... When one is bad, it's very bad... Both it's peaks and it's troughs are greater for UK than US. As a result there is a lot more US comedy worth watching than there is in the UK, but I'd trade them all for any of the great British comedies.

American, by a mile, especially when talking about the very best that they both have to offer. No British sitcom can come close to the likes of Friends, That 70s' Show, Scrubs, King of Queens, Everybody Loves Raymond, Seinfeld, Fraiser etc. British comedy is in general pretty weak.

Your argument would probably be a lot more valid if you mentioned, you know,.....good comedy shows.

The irony being that someone who genuinely thinks that friends and king of queens are good comedies are only name dropping Seinfeld and Frasier because they have a reputation for being genuinely good (Seinfeld is, Frasier isn't) and probably wouldn't even get half the jokes and references in either of them and are simply naming them because it's "cool".

Very well said.

Monty Python, Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie, Rowan Atkinson...
Man, these guys are hilarious!

Rowan Atkinson is a comedy king!
Watching Black Adder or Mr. Bean never gets old; always will be one of the best classic comedy.

Mr Bean gets old very, very quickly.

I haven't follow British Comedy in quite awhile and to be honest I really missed. I don't have BBC America anymore.

🙁

As for who wins? Well, the American version of The Office beats the British version by a mile. America always on top (go away Canadians)
