The main problem is that the cards, rocks, whatever have to actually hit something to explode. They can't explode in midair. And Nightwing's costume is extremely durable. He's taken hits far more powerful than Gambit's explosion.
Sonics, vomit gas, etc. Gambit goes down 80% of the time.
they dont have to hit something at all. How else can you explain him simply touching something, backing away, then it exploding a few seconds later? (which he has done quite a few times)
and yes, nightwing's armor can protect him against sonics and gas... but i'd like to see a grenade blow up a few centimeters from his face and see what happens...
I have already countered these arguements. Nightwing is one of the most agile characters in comicdom. In some ways he outshadows Spider-Man himself.
You on the other hand haven't countered mine. "Sonics, vomit gas, etc." That's not referring to the durability of Nightwing's armour. That's referring to the gadgets that Nightwing would use on Gambit. Which Gambit has no defense against.
<<Don't you dare say that Nightwing "outshadows" Spiderman in agility.
How dare you, sir.
How dare you.>>
exactly.
i love NW. he's a high level HUMAN acrobat. spidey however, is superhuman - VERY SUPERHUMAN. NW is fast and cool and i think he'd take gambit, but let's not go getting all crazy in this thing.
actually, i now think that if gambit was being a jokester like always, nightwing would own him.
but if gambit gets pissed off...i would really like to see gambit go berserker, amp his body with biokinetics, and just run around speedblitzing the crap out of some people. at least it would make people shut up about his wussiness...
Gambit doesn't fight smartly. He's all trash talk. Nightwing has far more experience and fighting know-how. A bunch of glowing cards isn't going to catch him offguard.
A sonic weapon or neural scrambler and Gambit's done. The explosions Nightwing can dodge. Hell he can just throw batarangs at the cards Gambit throws thus making it explode in Gambit's vicinity.
Bar none, Dick is the premier acrobat not only in Bludhaven, or the United States or even the world, but perhaps most of the known cosmos. Naturally gifted with an astounding about of innate agility, Dick has also been trained since before he could crawl to preform acrobatically. His parents were perhaps the worlds best aerial trapeze artists and they wished to instill even more prowess to their child and thus taught him everything they knew. Since before he could walk, Dick has been as ease with being in a freefall well above the surface below, twisting and cortorting himself in the air. This has only been compounded by all of the additional training he's had later in life, primarily under Batman's tutelage. He can preform a near endless string of complex tucks, rolls and flips in rapid succession and has no problem adapting to any environment or situation in which to bounce around in. Dick is accomplished at any acrobatic event known to man and could likely win an Olympics were he to enter them, with relative ease. But he's also very much able to craft his own routines off the cuff in the middle of a firefight.A great spin-off from his acrobatics is his ability to tumble, to tuck and roll and fall *with* a force directed against him rather than be completely subjected to it. He's been trained to take falls from great heights to avoid injury and especially death, but he can also roll with the punche's, which is what he does most often in combat. Rather than beating on a foe, hell go with the flow, take some blows while looking for a weak spot/moment and try to tire his foe out.
It should be noted that Dick's natural agility, which fantastic, doesn't make him the level of acrobat that he is. It helps, but while he might be able to fold himself in half or the like, its his skill and continued training that maintain his acrobatics. He has a natural affinity for it, but still he practices to keep it up (which nightly patrols swinging around town often does).

oBeing a practiced master in only a half dozen or so martial arts, Dick is an accomplished martial artist who is reknown around the globe for his grace and prowess in combat. As knowledgeable as he is of the martial arts, he is not the world's greatest practicioner of the arts, such as those like Connor Hawke or Lady Shiva, Batgirl or even the current Robin, Tim Drake. Rather, Nightwing is such a formatable opponent because he prefers to ultilize a method to his combat more in line with his mentor and greatest teacher; The Batman. Dick is rather imposing to square off against thusly for two primarily reasons - the first is that he is adept in many styles and arts, combining them all into a very natural and adept blend that suits his own natural strengths (acrobatics) and weaknesses to make him stronger rather than set in any one form and secondly, he cheats. His greatness and reputation as the suberb combatant that he is doesn't stem from a mastery of training or martial skills, but rather his gift to go with the flow and maintain his own balance and do thatever he can to get his foe off theirs.
In this vein, the two styles that he draws upon the most are Aikido and Eskrima. The former is a style developed by 'O Sensei', Morihei Ueshiba, as 'The Way of Harmony of The Spirit' as a means to not only focus on using your own energy to gain control of an opponent to toss them aside, but as a means to find personal balance and peace. This is what drew Dick to the art more than the combative elements of the style, which has its base in Jujitsu with all of the grapple and throws as well as binding/breaking joint locks. It also tends to lend itself to combinations with other styles, an adaptability that Dick strives for. The latter, Eskrima, is a weapons-based combat reliant on a short pair of sticks mean to extremely brief (and often brutal), to end a fight in a matter of seconds. This effecitive use of speed to disable or defeat a foe makes it functional, as well as its emphasis on manual dexterity and building faster reaction times.
All of this combines with Dick's wealth of experience, as he has been a costumed hero since his early teenage years, and in all of that time he has pretty much seen it all. He has a great amount of experience at the art of fighting itself, as he has been involved in a countless number of them and thus while he can't do things like outrace a bullet, he has seen and fought enough to know how to read an opponents body language to help dodge before a weapon is fired. This coupled with his creativity and wit means that he is not only able to gauge most any situation, but strive for the means to achieve victory. He's able to throw down with foes who should be otherwise unbeatable, those that are stronger (Blockbuster), faster or even highly unpredictable (Joker) and maintain his own, primarily through the art of defense. This also aids him when he leaps into a fray of countless thugs or a sea of uniform grunts, as he can dance, duck and duke his way around a whole melee of foes with relative ease. His greatest asset his is acrobatics, which he often falls into using without thought or hesitantion, to help flip and dodge around foes. He also manages to keep most off filter with his bantering and use of verbal jabs, wanting to cloud the reasoning of his opponets to gain the upper edge.
Dick himself is far from unbeatable, as he often involves himself in so many things that he isn't always of top condition when he finds himself in a sticky situation. He can't dodge a bullet, only guess where it might be going and he requires effort to dodge or block, just like everyone else. Its his adaptability, training, creativity and conditioning that help him to bide his time, look for the proper weakness and then exploit it when the time is right.
Hmm...hard to say. But I say that Nightwing wins.

And after reading all of that, the text clearly says that he is not invincible and has weaknesses. Simply keep the fight going long enough and a trained fighter will begin to pick up and use those weaknesses.
Someone like Rene, a born and trained expert thief plz people. This guy is not some chump wannabe off the streets. He was trained as an expert thief at a young age. His mutant powers only makes him even more deadly, not needing any kind of weapons or devices to use. Gambit can time and control the intensity of the object he charges. And that doesn't take it minutes unless he is charging something extremely large or that is just a poor conductor. Small objects only require seconds for him not minutes.
what if gambit just makes the entire block where the are fightinhg explode by channeling his energies into thr ground beneath him, he can do that in seconds now after he got back his grey matter from essex, plus he can survive explosions of his own causing easily by absorbing the kinetic energy in whatever hits him. just depends on his mood, if hes serious he OWNS nightwing bigtime, if hes not, he still beats nightwing after a 4 minute fight.

Sonics, vomit gas, etc. Gambit can't counter that. And please Nightwing is WAY more experienced and is FAR better fighter.
An Aladdin wannabe isn't on his level in these terms.
sonics dont effect him unless they are EXTREMELY poweful (hence the metal headband deal...)
vomit gas? Dude.. the guy's cajun. I'm sure he's eaten stuff that vomit gas cant even compare to 😛
and where the hell does aladdin come into play?!?
