W2000 help

I installed Windows 2000 a few days ago. I got my updates

I ahve like 326 mb Ram
a geforce NVididia 2 2200 or soemthing simillar
1.3 gigahertz processer
a large harddrive

and it spontanieously restarts. It actually restarted while I was attmepting to make this thread the first time. 😠 Any help?

buy a new comp

I didnt buy it, its a result of a TON of- its a custom thank you very much

Serious help, anyone?

never worked with W2K so I can't really help

I thought I had an idea, but I can't remember the file you have to check 😖

thnx anyway

the restarts seem completely random as well... a few minutes after starting the thread it did it, then 30 min later it didi it, and hasnt done it since... but it has only been like 20 or 30 minutes

in the meantime, scan your pc for virusses too

I did, and nothign came u[

My dad had the same problem, but that was two eyars ago and he dont remember how to fix it...

that's bad luck 😄

when you're in a session and you hit ctrl+alt+del, can you see your pc generating a lot of winscript or something along those lines?

I had the very same problem once ✅
all I had to do was clean it 😬

What do you mean?

handles 8363
threads 400
process 45

and their is a lot of winscrip runnign as well

well..sounds like a virus....update an antivirus to the latest version and scan again....
though you might need to format and reinstall 🙂

Ive reinstalled three times. Virus definitions are updated and nothing is wrong. No spyware is on my comp. Stupid microsoft. Ill just go bk to MEin a little while...

LTA I see 3 possibilities:
1) Processor's Temperature (is it an AMD?)
2) Video Drivers
3) Memory Problems

in "run" type that file and there should be an option somewhere "stop making after X seconds"

change it to one if it isn't, cause my pc had the same problem a year or three ago and that was the problem
