Uh.........little help!?

Okay, my computer is acting really weird. Like for instance yesterday and sunday my computer wouldn't come on to the orginal desktop. When I turned it on and it started loading it would say "error protection. You need to restart your computer
press any key to continue." But even if I didn't press any key it would turn itself off. So I could only go into safe mode and I went into the Norton Anti-virus security icon thingy and next to email scanning it had a cross and also had the word "error" next to it so I couldn't get on to the internet in safe mode. But today it still went into safe mode and let me connect to the internet. But it's still in safe mode and everything on the screen is smoshed together and I don't know how to get into the normal mode. Has this happened to anyone else? do you know how I can fix it?

try reinstalling windows....
actually when you turn it on it should give you the option to go intoo safe mode or not...
check your system software
sometimes you need to reinstall something

Thanks Baka. It did come up with the option to go into normal mode or not and I clicked to go into normal mode but thats when the error protection message comes on.

Windows 98, but its okay because my Mum's friend is a computer expert and she said that its probably a virus. But thanks for your help.

try defragging your disc drive.

Its okay, she told me I should get some virus up-dates and then do a virus scan.

Get a new one

It's a family computer, I can't get a new one.
