Help!

Hey all,

I need to know - what precisely is "abstract language"? I have an oral exam in two days and apparantly I need to use it to gain full marks...

Ahnold

I think it is language that is vague 😬

For example?

i have no idea!!!!

Oh...

If someone could tell me, that'd be much appreciated...

Abstract terms refer to ideas or concepts; they have no physical referents.

Examples of abstract terms include love, success, freedom, good, moral, democracy, and any -ism (chauvinism, Communism, feminism, racism, sexism). These terms are fairly common and familiar, and because we recognize them we may imagine that we understand them—but we really can't, because the meanings won't stay still.

this might be it 😬

Heh - I JUST found that site! But I still don't really get it - how can you include abstract language in an oral exam?

what's your topic?

Against the legalisation of cannabis.

Don't start...

😑 😂 i have no idea what that is

Talking in abstraction obviously. Something that is an abstraction has no precise reality. Something hypothetical; eg someone's 'good side.' Horrible topic btw
