I don't like Pantera or Metallica, but I don't go around boards saying they suck. And yea, sure. Granted they ARE legends. But I don't like Avril Lavigne or Britney Spears either, but I don't go round boards saying THEY suck either. No point. They have their fans. If they like those artists, all power to them. 1) Pretty much anyone can get a record label these days, no matter how much they suck. EXAMPLE: Simple Plan, Ashlee Simpson, Good Charlotte and friends....

2) Just because a small majority of people like them, doesn't mean they are any good at what they do EXAMPLE: President George W Bush, and his reelection.

I mean, come on. Obviously their main demographic is high school aged kids, and how old are these guys? If they were serious artists, concerned about the quality and depth of their music, they wouldn't be appealing to hormonal, whiny, angst-ridden teens. Or maybe they're just really pathetic and never grew up, in which case....there's no excuse for their shitty music, besides being shitty musicians. And that's equally sad, especially considering the success they've enjoyed.

They would have to change their music style to appeal to a different audience. Their audience is the teens and people in their early twenties or so. Don't go trying to change their music for you. There are plent of bands and singers out there to satisfy everyone. I hate it when I see a thread on a topic and then everyone sits around bashing the topic. That is just not right. Start your own "What bands do you hate" thread then. Because some of us fans dont' want to be reading about how much LP sucks or whatever. Find a new place to bash!!

The inability to 'get a label' in no way indicates whether someone is capable of judging the quality of music. That's what critics do. I'm not trying to get a label, and I am judging away! And I'm damn good at it!
