Here's your answer: There is nothing wrong with that. The particular song you were (incorrectly) quoting there was written by Rage Against The Machine, who are streets ahead of most bands when it comes to lyrics, and full city blocks ahead of N*Syncin Park. If you don't have the mental capacity to understand and appreciate RAtM's lyrics, fine. But don't you dare insult them. They were a phenomenal band and far FAR better than Linkin Park could ever hope to be.
Linkin Park are a boy band. End of story.
i'd pick rage too--but i wouldn't go to the 2nd grade level of demeaning the other band by 'cleverly' changing their name to incorporate part of a pop act.

...none of those bands are 'great' they are good. not great. Korn has made too many bad albums to be considered great.
Untouchables sucked big time. Take A Look In The Mirror wasn't perfect by a long stretched but it took them back to their roots and silenced all the 'they're too whiney' critiscisms, and had the added bonus of being one of the hardest and heaviest nu metal records I've heard since American Head Charge.
Deftones have made four classic albums, they have one of the best vocalists around right now, they're lyrics are an effective and completely innovative mixture of spooky and sensual, they're songs are consistently huge and epic-sounding and they are excellent live. Overrated? Hell no.
I remember when they opened for Metallica at Foxboro, and they were mind blowing. In fact they were better than Metallica. Chino Moreno suffered (not for the first time) from severe vocal injuries due to his manic performance, they have a colossal stage presence and sounded almost CD perfect. I've only ever seen two bands whip a crowd up into such a frenzy as Deftones, so I have two questions for you.
1. Do you actually like their music?
2. Where, when and with whom did you see them play?

A "boyband" isn't a band consisting of boys. If that were true, then several rock bands could be considered "boybands", namely Incubus in their earlier days. A boyband is a group of talentless young men who look good enough to be put on an album cover, and who play pop music. If I'm not mistaken, everybody in N*Sync was over 18, and legally an adult.

You kinda just proved yourself wrong. If you really didn't care about people likeing or disliking them then you wouldn't have gotten so obviously upset over people disliking them.
As you said, they're just music, and it shouldn't matter to you if people bash them or not.
