Has this ever happened to you?

Has anyone ever smelled, tasted, felt, etc, anything, told you about how bad it smelt, tasted, etc., and then insisted you follow in turn?

"Eww, this smells horrible! Smell it." Handing it to you after telling you about the extreamly horrifying smell, and then expect you to actually smell it?

Why? You just told me it smelled bad, why do I want anything to do with it?

Has this happened to anybody else?

It happenes all the time! I know exactly what you mean...

I guess they all want you to understand how bad it smells for yourself...

But, how does that make me happy? I don't want to smell some rancid cheese smelling anonymous blob.

The purpose isnt to make you happy, but to inform you of how horrible the cheese smells.

So you know what they know.

Is that something you can live without knowing? I think so.

Then dont bother smelling it. Simple. Your question was ''why they do it'' and we said why.

But, still. Why would they insist? Why would they offer in the first place? If they were that repulsed by it, why spred the horror?

Its just something people do. Not everyone does it, but most people do. They want you to understand how horrible smell is, so you understand why they are repulsed by it, and in order to do that, they offer you to smell it.
