Virus' - Play safe Children

this thread particularly applies to all you people who like porn (and you know who you are 😉 )

It's in the OTF because it has the most visitors, and therefore most people should see it 🙂

aaaaanyway, as you may or may not know, there's some virus going about, blah blah blah.... and it's really big and annoying 😬

now we don't wanna lose members here cos their PC's have screwed up ❌

I just recently noticed I had a virus, and I'm normally careful 🙂

So:

[*]update and run your virus checker
[*]don't download dodgy stuff 😉
[*]and stay safe 🙂

First of all, get an anti-virus program: http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php

Then go to: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and make sure you have all the critical updates.

Thirdly go here: http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=download
Download the spyware remover and run it.

And finally, to stop ALL worms dead in their track and to make yourself instantly immunable, install the built-in firewall: http://www.microsoft.com/security/protect/windowsxp/firewall.asp

OR get a very good (free) firewall here: http://soho.sygate.com/products/spf_standard.htm

*note: Raz-lite points this out to Porn downloaders...and he got the virus....yet he never sacked up and admitted his outrageous addiction to porn*

half dozen? I got 17 when my mate downloaded some patch that copied itself 16 times 😬

gone now 😊 but never again is he downloading ❌

I always right click on the little box in the Start Bar, then click close, saves actually touching the pop-up itself, in case the whole thing is a link.

Sometimes the little cross on the pop-up looks normal and is actually a link to the porn, equalling bastard virus etc.........

W.32.Sasser.A is the virus ur talking about i think...nasty one, and a programming fault in the virus code causes ur computer to repeatedly shut down and restart...takes the piss 😒

i got it a few days ago, and since it doesnt come through emails, the only thing that can protect ur pc really is a firewall, so see if u can get one enabled. also, go to the Microsoft website and download the critical update for the Sasser Worm, so u dont get infected, or to remove the worm if u already have it. it comes in 4 different forms, a,b,c and d, so keep updating windows fom the MS website 🙂

I already had a firewall enabled, and have already downloaded the upgrade from microsoft's websitr to protect the computer from it.

i had a frickin virus from kazaa 😬 but it's gone now... i think 😖
