As everyone knows, the Oxford Dictionary is the deciding factor in any grammatical argument.
Now, if you would kindly turn to page 529, where you well find the definition of "spell". Turn the page over, and you will then find the defintion of "spelt". further analysis of the page shows no usage of the word (if you will call it that) "spelled".
