He couldn't read the humans reaction, but is was as good as needed. At least he didn't feel a chunk of metal blowing out his chest. He stopped at the drop pod and retrieved his plasma rifles.
The three figures were slowly making there way towards him. He set off as to meet them before they saw this scene. He looked around him, absent mindedly clicking his mandibles. He turned the plasma rifle over in his hands, its gleaming surface reflected his face. He jerked his head back surprised at the warped figure staring back at him. He closed his eyes, when he opened them again he was looking back at the approaching Sangheili. He set the rifle back at his side and trotted off towards them.
Slowing down he stopped in front of them, slowly turning his head to look at all three, clad in blue armor. "Report." Their apparent leader hesitated one second before answering. "Advanced scouts, we were ordered to locate the humans. We believe some of there pods landed in this area."
Shxzalor checked his over shield, some of it was left, less than he'd like, but still more than he expected. "Turn around and leave this valley, I have already been here. My orders come from the Higher-arcs."
"Ha! I would sooner believe you to be a traitor before a story like that." Both elites behind him exchanged glances. They looked Shxzalor over, noticing the coloration of his armor. One of them muttered something and the leader quickly realized the same thing.
"Believe what you will, it was closer than I would have guessed had it been literal. Throw aside the color of my armor, it matters not." He lifted a shoulder plate showing them a mark on his arm. The elite started and his head snapped back to look at him. Shxzalor cut him of before he could speak. "But your first guess was right, I am a traitor." His blade leaped to life, its tip unwavering beside his face, illuminating his features.
The elite stood for a few seconds staring at the blade,"TRAITOR! HERETIC! You have broken your oath, you have abandoned our holy war, you have lost your gods."
His reaction was barely a blur, the sword, elongated by the speed of the attack, seemed to be at his side, while at the same time, buried in the elites chest lifting it of the ground. The elites expression was that of shock, and utter surprise. Tilting the sword upward, he caused the elite the slide down the length of the blade. Its first reaction was to grab it to stop its descent, it stopped inches from the cobalt hue. Instead it stared at him in horror. He raised his head staring it in the face. "This. Is. No. Holy. War!"
He swung the sword, the elite flew off the end landing limp on the ground beside him. The other two snarled and drew plasma swords. These were not high of rank, it looked like the humans had already killed some of his brothers. "Your blood will flow traitor."
"Indeed, I am a traitor. But I am not the betrayer." He ducked under one swing and blocked another. Backpedalling with the task of keeping up with both blades at once. He opened his com, "Humans, perhaps your interference would be appreciated."
