Ahh, now that isn't entirely accurate. MOST Canadians don't speak French, only a small percentage, and those of us who work for the Government and are forced to.

really, i thought as there are 2 national languages, both were taught in skool, and most paople would know both

Technically, you are right, however in high school, you only need to take 1 french course, and while there are officially 2 languages, the focal point is in the province of Quebec for French.
