Programming & Functionality of the Terminator Models
So far in this forum people have talked about the T-1000 vs T-X and the basics of SkyNet. No one has actually thought about the technical side to being a terminator.
Now it is safe to assume that the processes and functions of terminator models would be almost instantaneous. Even computers now which operate on a binary system can send millions of commands to and from the CPU to various hardware components in the time it takes us to blink. If this were so then the terminators would be able to calculate, predict and respond to any possible action taken by humans or other terminators regardless of physical restraints and timing. This would ultimately make it impossible to outsmart or out move a terminator.
In all 3 Terminator movies we are given the chance to see through the eyes of a terminator. It is clear that all relevant data required by the terminator is displayed on using a visual connection with audio capabilities.
The most recognised function of the terminator is to seek out and destroy. This is why you will notice that most of the time the terminators are in analysis mode which scans the surrounding area using motion, radiation and thermal detection as well as infrared. This is why you always see the terminators walking slowly and constantly moving their heads. They are seeking out targets in analysis mode. Once a target is located defence/attack algorithms are initiated and given a priority level.
Due to the nature of the terminator models all programming would be written in modular format like Windows XP. This is so that is an area of the program gets damaged it will not affect other integrated programs. This also allows for upgrades and repairs to be made. Programs would most likely me put into sorted modules for specifically purposes such as behavioural and personality subroutines, actions, database information ect.
In order to understand the technical aspects of terminators you have to look at today’s computer technology and image what would you would do if you were a machine and relied on pure logic.
After all what is a terminator but efficiency we lack
