USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II, EPISODE I (LIGHT SIDE)- Conspiracy

Roan, you make contact from... well, err, probably your ship, I guess.

"Not really our area of expertise," says Dixon, a dectective in your father's old department. "Much as we would like to patrol the Galaxy and identify all threats... it's not on the Corellian Way or the Trade Spine... closest major route is the Rimma." He sounds thoughtful for a moment. "It's closer to Strine's area of operations, but I don't see what is in it for a pirate chief like him to take relatively silm pickings from somewhere like Anzat. Maybe on a whim, but no need to take that many casualties. Or bother to use droids. Did you ever hear of Strine? Nasty piece of work."

Now, what about contacts who may be able to help with Nesere?

-

Yup, you can set a watch, that's fine; anything else?

Kellan nodded at Marcus. "Jeb and I will take the first watch. I'll wake you in about two hours."

Do you want to check the reports now or after your shift, Gundy?

"sounds good"

"Ok so in two hours me and Marcus will watch? If something happens wake us up" sais Vlad as he looks at where he can sleep.

(I'm sure Trorn has already arranged rooms)

"Take a perimeter walk around the entire floor, Jeb," Kellan instructed, slouching into a comfortable chair nearby. She then gave the datapad her full attention.

"Vilpa would you like to stay here or accompany Jeb?"

Now, what about contacts who may be able to help with Nesere?

It's Nesere? I've been calling him the wrong thing? Sigh my bad.

Couldn't we talk to that temple academ he got the degree from?

Temple? It is a University, and one of the best for technical matters in the Galaxy- the Taloranians are renowned tinkerers. They are also renowned for being very security conscious, though, and you likely won't get much out of them.

-

"My place is at your side, Master," says Vilpa.

oh *kicks memmory*
I have a contact and an ally can they help.
1.-A freind of the Hutt's has taken care of a few of there problems
for a cheap price.
3.-Has a good freind on Ralltir (Snar Tan) that works in
intergalactic transmitting system

*Marcus smiles*

"Thank you for the compliment Vilpa, you are a most dedicated student"

ohh good.
Lets give that a try. Nothing like exausting our resourses!

"I suppose I shall go with Master Gundark," Jelena says. "I am not the least bit tired." She walks with Master Gundark during their patrol.

"I have never had the honor of personally meeting you, Master Gundark, though I always read up on your adventures chasing Kuylen. I felt worry over Xeth though, being a renegade and all. Hunting Dark Jedi is not a healthy business..."

After Roan checks in with Dixon about the Corsairs, Xeth clambers into his ship.

"U9, set up a connection to Gralus Turandi on Taloraan, I need to speak with him," he tells his droid, then sits in front of the hologram projector.

Once Gralus Turandi appears on the projector, Xeth greets him. "Hello old friend, how's Taloraan? I need a spot of help from you, regarding a man named Nesere. He was a graduate of the Academy, and the local forces in the Anzat Sector are positive that he has been kidnapped by a group called the Anzat Corsairs. I need you to look up information about Nesere..."

Xeth waits for Gralus' response, sitting with Roan, Christof, and Densk around the projector in his ship.

"Well Marcus, we will be the only ones sleeping heh" said Vlad

Xeth- all you are getting is a blank screen and a recorded message saying that Gralus is unavailable for all queries. Without clearance, he is your only route into the department. Brick wall, I am afraid.

Gundy appears to be sititng in the hotel, not on patrol, Jelena.

"It doesn't seem to be our business at all, any more," says Jeb.

Gundark, you check the datapad. Most of the details are given with what I showed to Fire, above. But as I said, the autopsy report arrived after Kenobi left the case, and so has not been checked yet. And very soon, you have a very bad feeling.

The Private Investigator was killed in a back alley shortly after leaving a bar on Neimodia, from which he believed he could get information. Any notes he took were presumably in the destroyed datapad found nearby- no hope of recovery. His body was left in the street.

But it is the way he was killed that has gotten your attention, Gundark. He died from three puncuture wounds, caused by impalement on pointed metallic objects. But the autopsy report makes the following notes on this:

1. The wounds were inflicted at the same time, so it was not a knife

2. The angle of direction from the wounds diverge, so it was not a stabbing weapon

3. The shear of the wound is clean, no signs of struggling during impalement, which means it was not caused by any soret of close-up weapon, that might be, say, spring loaded, at all

4. The spikes were removed, presumably by hand, afterwards.

The conclusion of the report is that the weapon that killed him was actually projectile- some sort of weapon that fires metallic spikes in a dispersal pattern.

You only know one person who uses that kind of weapon...

Xeth frowns, and decides to leave his message for Gralus to contact him later.

(*reads above post* Looks like I need to put Balek back in that hole again!)

(pay attention to what you're doing, Xeth....don't make me give you one of my 'looks' from way over here on Coruscant)

Balek ! Kellan thought, re-reading the autopsy detail. Seemed Xeth had not sent the bounty hunter to his end after all. This would be a problem. She would need to discuss this development with Marcus; if Balek decided to show up tomorrow, they would be ready.

That really WOULD surprise you, Gundy. Balek is many things- cruel, callous, maybe pointless. But he is very efficient, and also very smart. He never puts a foot wrong in Republican space, and certainly would not go near any of you until you left it. He's lived only by being careful. This is the most open you have ever seen him be- it doesn't fit. And you are SURE he would not be insnane enough to take a hit on the Viceroy, with a Jedi bodyguard.

And who the heck would hire Balek to kill that PI? Something odd going on here, Gundy.

How bout LB's contact?
