Never As It Seems

Wormtail slumped to the ground, scrabbling for his own wand. he pulled it and stuttered out a spell. A jet of light shot from his wand, one that would knock Snape backward. The other students had gathered, and a small crowd stood on the stairs, Tom Riddle and Chelsea at the front.

Chelsea hoped her brother would go easy on the poor boy. She didn't know what Mr. Pettigrew did but she knew it was proaly an accident.

Snape hit the wall beind him hard. He gave a smirk and muttered another spell that levitated Petr above everyone.

Peter started muttering, and Snape began to rise too. Behind the crowd, the hovering pair could see James and Sirius chanting quietly.

Severus smirked. He was having fun with this cherade although it looked as if he were having fun tortuing Wormtail. He muttered a few words unintelligible to the other students. Peter's hair began to rapidly fall out. This caused the other students to roar with laughter.

Rose looked on with laughter before an icy hand fastened around her mouth.

Chelsea stood beside Rose. When she heard her laughter stop, she turned to see what was wrong.

James and Sirius finished their spell, and everyone in the hall froze, except them and Lupin. Lupin quickly said the counter-curse on Snape and Wormtail.
"Lets get him up to the 3rd floor!"

"Huh?" said Holly as she came on into the library and started to uncounter people. When she came to Riddle she noticed his smile grow bigger. "Are you ok?"

Chelsea remained frozen on the other side of Riddle. Snape ran in and stopped Holly. "No...we need everyone frozen to stopp him." he whispered so only she could hear.

"Oh. Coratiouscirt!" said Holly. the people she froze became ice sculptures once again.

James cast a spell and binding rope came out of his wand, tying up Riddle even though he was frozen. Then he said something else and Riddle moved a foot of the ground.

"You ready?" asked Sirius
"Yes. Let's go now," answered James, heading up the stairs.

Holly watched them and started to head for her common room.

Severus looked at Peter. "You okay?" he asked. "No pain right?"

"If you are we can send you to the hospitaol wing," she reassured him.

"N, n, no, I'm fine," said Peter, who didn't look it. His teeth were chattering, though the reason why couldn't really be determined.

"Do you need help?" she asked before she helped him up to his feet.

"No, I'm fine," he said, determination in his voice. James stood on the stairs, tapping his foot.

"Let's go!" said Sirius loudly.

"See you!" cried Holly to them.

Severus started to say something. As the other students were unfroze one by one, snape noticed Chelsea looking for Riddle. "Oh no." she said. She ran up to Severus. "Where's Rose?" she asked urgently.

"Right here," said Rose as she entered the room. "I had to find the spellbook for Charms."
