Virginia Tech Center: so, so sad. praying for people.

There are lessons to learn in the past. I think that colleges should have metal detectors and alarms to go off if someone comes in with a gun except for cops coming in with guns.

I have in the past posted links to tell you people about the shooting at the Littleton, Colorado high school coming up to 8 years ago now telling you that death threats get taken seriously everywhere.

2 guys 8 years ago if they were captured alive would've maybe gotten the death penalty. Same thing with VT. It would've been nicer if those shooters were killed by the police or they were alive for being arrested and put on death row.

Thats true, unfortunately many people don't look at our past mistakes, or try to repress them, thats a grave mistake. As we all know, history is doomed to repeat for those who reject what the past can tell us. Columbine was a shock to us all, the recent shootings in Virginia were more than twice as bad as Columbine, but it didn't seem to pull at our hearts as much, its most likely because school shootings are becoming more and more common.

Its sad but true, the world is getting worse everyday. Its best we follow the Lord and try to have good safe fun throughout our lives, and also to be weary of danger.

Life can be bad and hectic at times, but the flowers of life make up for the prickly stems.

Peace and faith be with us all.

Maybe citizens should not carry guns legally and only people in the military and law enforcement should carry guns legally. With all of those school shootings they should just put metal detectors in schools and have alarms to go off if there's an intruder with a gun or a student has a gun in school adn the police will be notified. There are drills for situations like this.

This is a reason not to joke about killing people so any of you making death threats against Mickey Suttle could even be prosecuted on charges of making terroristic threats.

Citizens of America should always have the right to own firearms. To take away firearms from the American people would be unconstitutional. Metal detectors in major schools would be a good idea though, I know some schools have done this.

Even if possession of firearms was made illegal in the US, criminals would still find ways to get them, and they would use them, possibly against innocent lawful civilians with no firearms to protect themselves with... you see this would cause many problems.

Marijuana is illegal in the US, but a large sum of Americans find ways to get it, and use it. The same would occur with guns, and it does occur to the guns in the US that are actually illegal in the US, such as automatic sub machine guns and full automatic assault rifles. (Unless used by people who are authorized to own them, and civilians with special permits and such.)

The point is, making all guns illegal in the US wouldn't solve the problem. This is a problem that can't really be solved, the fact is, there are disturbed people out there, and there always will be. And innocent people are hurt by them. Its a sad truth.

Right, and where are the statistics - you know, unmanipulated and whatnot- backing up the fact that "bearing arms" reduces the number of lives lost due to criminal encounters?

There are always stupid parents that don't lock up their arms properly, and you have the odd report of kids going into schools kiling people, or some adolscent blowing off their neighbour's head just because he/she was "mean."

Don't get me wrong though, in America's current state, I have no idea what to do. If I did, you'd probably find my name in a journal somewhere. I can't help but feel that having such "loose" rules with regards to arms was a complete and total mistake.

It's a pity to cee a centre of higher learning having idiots walking in with guns. My condolences go out to everyone involved.

It's funny.. the mother (former FBI agent) of a girl that died that day said it's not the gun availability that is to blame. In fact if everyone carried a gun a tragedy like this would never have happened.
Hehehehe, yeah... I'd feel so safe if every emotional unstable 20-26 year old carried a gun with him at all times. They would protect us against the villains.
It wouldn't be likely that whenever someone's picked on or has trouble in relationships they would reach for a weapon at a certain point. That sort of thing never happens, does it..

Even though it's quite irresponsible to let everyone own a gun, I'd like one.. 🙂

I won't make citizens arrests but I do know people in the law enforcement and I won't give you their names. Death threats get taken seriously on no matter what threads they are because of all this violence in the world.

Star Wars Insider is a pretty cool magazine, aside from being overly priced. Lets just say its content has been better in the past but its still pretty cool.

Demolition18, you just need to loosen us a bit, use logic, obviously Overlord isn't going to even attempt harming Suttle, Overlord isn't really stupid, some young guy from Holland with a full head on his shoulder's isn't going to travel ALL the way to North Carolina and murder a guy just because he mislead Star Wars fans.

Its just not enough of a motive for a rational man to commit murder.
