When Ulid arrived at the Council chambers, he saw some familiar Jedi faces, yet most of the Council was gone.
Fighting, he remembered. Fighting for the Republic.
But why? The Republic was hoplessly doomed, and the stupid politicians of the Republic were really screwing up the main assault against the Datk Jedi.
There, he thought. There he is.
"Ah, Ulid Euhr, what brings you here, to the Academy of Corellia?" said High Jedi Master Councilman Valuur Tokare-the beloved brother, of the famous-or infamous? which was it?-Vandar Tokare, Jedi Master and High Councilman himself.
Ah, thought Ulid. Now Master Vandar was a true hero. He himself faced off against the current Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Lurik, and his master, Lord Darth Revan.
Yes Revan.
Years before, about forty-one, Revan had been defeated, and was thought to have been killed. Thought to have been, atleast.
But then Revan reappeared. He hadn't died, nor had he been killed. He had been kept alive, his mind had been wiped, and the Jedi had used him.
He didn't know what happened to Revan, for all he knew, Revan had redeemed himself, and stayed on the path of the light. But even if he did, he eventually still turned back into what he had once been. Killing the Dark Jedi that had threatened him, and retaining the mantle of Dark Lord of the Sith.
What Ulid knew of Lurik was that he had been the friend of Revan when Revan had been used by the Jedi. This Darth Lurik was much like a younger Revan: headstrong, brash, and extremely brave.
And he too had fallen.
Ulid had learned his knowledge of the Jedi, Sith, and other related information from Master Tokare.
"Master Councilman Tokare, I seek information the Jedi Council has withheld from me." said Ulid, trying not to anger the old Jedi.
"Hmm, perhaps it is time for you to know what I can say. To learn what I have learned of you, yes? Perhaps." And with that, the elder Tokare smiled at Ulid, and he could see a startling twinkle in the Jedis' eyes.
