LoTR Movie Merchandise

Arwen? Eowyn? Merchandise?!? ๐Ÿ˜‘

"and how much they cost"? ๐Ÿ˜–

Fascinating ๐Ÿ˜›

I want, basically, everything as long as it has to do with LoTR and doesn't include something connected to Legolas... and isn't tasteless ๐Ÿ˜›
What I like best? - the weapons. And the maps.

Some of the things I want to have should already be on their way to me... broken Narsil miniature in the hands of the sad statue in Rivendell... and six maps on parchment... and a huge Mordor-Poster (*curses slow German mail*) ~ problem: I have no idea how I can pay them ๐Ÿ˜– because I don't really have any money at the moment ๐Ÿ˜›

Best things are still books, though...
merchandise is often so stupid and too commercialized... of course it's all about commerce, but you can really overdo everything

whoa, let me be the 4th person to post...

I aint into collecting much merchandise quite yet.

I have a witchking, gandalf,Boromir shot glasses which havnt been used yet.

A Lord of the rings:TT keyring,

posters of every lord of the rings dvd cover, ie the return of the king dvd cover as a poster ๐Ÿ˜›

actually exa for me it's really about how much it will be worth in 20+ years ๐Ÿ˜„

Anywho...

I would love to find a Anduril moderately priced....I have seen a few of them...but they are much too rich for my blood

omg...they are pricey...i did try out Anduril...things is pretty heavy...the script on the blade is laser etched which is pretty cool...cost three bills and a quarter last i looked...

hurts...right here*points to heart*

I would like to find a good map...something that Aurora and I could frame and hang up in our new dwelling.

Something that looks aged...

well when i start working im gonna spend A LOT on the weapons.

yeah the map thing would be awesome...esp on parchment paper...but would you get one in elvish script or in english??? i'd get the elvish one just for the sake of reality...

btw...i must've spent nearly 20 mins staring at elendils helm...sh*ts beautifully crafted...right down to the small pits to show its been well worn...

they had an Arwen sword, but it looked smaller than the one's elves had in the prologue to fotr...hmm

ooooooooooh i fooking love arwen's sword ๐Ÿ˜„

๐Ÿ™„ ๐Ÿ˜›

I already have three huge maps in my room ๐Ÿ˜Š one that looks rather old and two by John Howe that are just... beautiful ๐Ÿ™‚ with drawings of different scenes round it (Silmarillion for Beleriand and LoTR for NW-ME)

Maps are one of the things I like most about LoTR ๐Ÿ˜Š ... sad that you can't decorate your room with, uhm, languages or something like that ๐Ÿ˜„ ok you theoretically could ๐Ÿ˜‘ *thinks about it*

did you like that map i posted? ๐Ÿ˜›

It looks great ๐Ÿ˜Š
Especially the inscription, beautiful writing, and the decorations on the hilt ๐Ÿ™‚

Yea, the ones in the prologue looked a lil bigger, but several of the available swords are smaller than their film pendants - like Andรบril, in the film it's 1.50m, the one you can buy is "only" 1.20 m

lol only ๐Ÿ˜›

edit - is that the whole thing or just the blade?

Yes I did ๐Ÿ˜„ actually I had been looking for this map for ages ๐Ÿ˜‰

Actually it contains names that I havent seen mentioned anywhere before (except on this map)... on none of Tolkien's maps... dunno where the names are from *wonders*

as we in the states are not yet on the metric system...all that was greek to me... ๐Ÿ˜›

but arwen's sword was about a little over 2 ft in total length...now i know she's a female elf, but i doubt they'd make a sword just because of that...i wish they had one of those elven sword's on display...

1.50m are 5 feet... 1.20m 4 feet ๐Ÿ˜›

Arwen's sword Hadhafang (actually it belonged to her great-grandmother Idril, princess of Gondolin) was a lil more than 3 feet

???confused1

@exa...that's the sword i saw on display...so maybe it was made according to Tolkien's spec...do you think???

and i was off on the size...since it was behind glass...

Actually it did

It's a sc. fictional sword belonging to sc. fictional persons - so it DOES belong to them

Though I don't think Hadhafang is Tolkien's fiction ๐Ÿ˜›

... the name is the Sindarin form of Quenya "Sangahyando", the name of the (?great-)grandson of Castamir who (unjustly) was king of Gondor for 10 years ๐Ÿ˜›

edit
@Fea

๐Ÿ˜‘ no idea
