I personally dont think that dreams tell us about the future like people always say...
In contrary, it's rather a story of our past... but following the inevitable course of causality, it is of course the key to the future - if we would understand ourselves and had a little more knowledge about the world, we would be able to foretell a lot... but enough of the future, what I wanted to say about dreams - interpreting is rather difficult as interpretations tend to search for a solution, a result, but the only result of dreams is the present time, and logically following the end which would in this case be the death 😬

yet dreams in essence-and i do follow your train of thought-is nothing more than past experiences, knowledge of current events, interactions with other souls: history and stories and life itself that in some ways manifest itself into cryptic forms of subconscious thoughts and hopes and wishes...that in imo is that but not so absolute as to restrict myself within that mold...

but then, no one can really say what our subconscious is or isn't...is it as some say a foretelling of an event that hasn't happened yet...and if it is does that give us the power to change it?

or just a fleeting moment that we wish it to be on a deeper level???

It's just a collection of past things that our consciousness has maybe half-forgotten, but it's more than that, it's imo our mind's own story that combines all it already knows to make it a possible image of the consequences of this past

Foretelling? I'd rather say it's imagination based upon what also carries foretelling, so a relative, but not identical... as unlike foretelling, it doesnt fore-see the future, it reviews the past

Which at least for me only rarely is the case 😛 my mind seems to be unable to see the logical consequences and prefers making up its own interpretation of causality...

Hm, I also just returned from the Philo section... but I usually don't answer there, maybe write replies, though nearly never post them. I prefer listening to / in this case reading the ideas of others... they at least make sense 😛
