The only band I would venture to put on such a high pedestal as 'best in the world' right now would be Opeth. Otherwise theres too much inconsistency in modern music.

Best singer is either Maynard J Keenan or Daryl Palumbo.

Best singer would probably be Marvin Gaye.

I believe Tool and Radiohead are the two most MUSICALLY TALENTED bands out at the moment and have been for a very long time.

The best lyricist is Maynard James Keenan and the best singer is Chris Cornell. Chris Cornell is second best lyricist to Maynard and Maynard is second best singer to Chris.

Mike Patton-Chris Cornell-Maynard James Keenan.

Best band are Tool, FNM if they stuck around probably.

I'd say he was more of an "up there" with the greats overall musical genius rather than singer. Although he is great.
