i ditched work too. lol.. took a half day to watch it! it was sooo worth it. although i was a bit disappointed coz they cut out a lot of parts from the book. but it was still the best movie to date. both ron and harry looked so good and emma looked pretty. it was very entertaining. i'm not totally sure if those people who haven't read the book followed the story as much as those who did. another thing that they didn't really explain was how sirius got out of azkaban.
HP3 movie: Not **BAD**, but...
I went to see POA movie yesterday (very excited, of course) and I got out of the cinema with a strange feeling. It wasn't a bad movie, I liked it, but something wasn't right about it.
In my opinion, everything went on too fast, one scene right after another, there wasn't much continuity. Besides, there were important things that were excluded, for example, the fact that James, Lupin, Sirius and Peter were the Marauders and that THEY created the map. Besides, how could they NOT mention that Harry's father animagus form was a stag? That's SO very important! And there were also some invented scenes (this I don't care much).
However, I liked the new actors a lot, I think they were wonderful. And the filming was great, too.
I'd like to read your opinions about the movie, and maybe I can understand why it wasn't quite what I'd expected. How many points from 1 to 5? I say 3½.

Mergeness 😉
There is already a thread like this.
Have you guys read most of the news about Harry Potter these days? Emma Watson is being praised (in my opinion) WAY TOO MUCH!! I mean, they never compliment Rupert or Daniel like this... It's all about Emma this week 🙄 God... It's not like I hate her... I just think she's overrated (LOL! Like a song! Heh)...
I think the reason they're praising her too much is because she takes a bigger roll in the Prisoner of Azkaban... She's the spotlight this time (not that she wasn't in the past movies)....
I don't know... I just feel like people are complimenting too much about her, especially the media... and personally, Rupert deserves much more attention than this "girl-power-hungry" young lady. 😈

I thought thing lol! Everytime I saw him, his height would unfortunately make him seem even less like Sirius then I already described earlier. The same goes for Dumbledore - the new one is shorter but that's ok because in general he doesn't look that different, however, be it due to his height or not he still lacked the grand presence of the previous Dumbledore and he didn't give off an aura of power and wisdom.
Oh and about Harry's sarcasm (which I didn't really notice lol) just imagine what he'll be like in film 5! 😉

He didn't have a wand though.
Ah yes, you're right 🙂
It still kinda bothers me though... I think I would have preferred a more dramatic escape like in the book. I mean, at least in that version it was more understandable why he couldn't escape 'cos in the film they didn't explain how he escaped hence he's still got this image as a Houdini escape artist and then when it comes down to it he's just pictured sitting there as if he accepts his fate. But anyway, it doesn't matter really I guess 😛
^That's true and I was worried about it too but then I realised that in most films they always uses actors'tresses who are quite old to play teens so I don't see why keeping the original cast of HP would be a problem 'cos they wouldn't be that much older, definitley not as old as some of the people used in other films!
Oh, does anybody know where there are any pics of the London premiere that was on Sunday!? 😄
Well, i just saw POA twice today...and i really liked it. The first time i was a bit dissapointed, i mean i liked it, but it seemed really random and fast moving (and if i hadn't read the books i would have been lost) But the second time i went i liked it even better, stuff fit together more smoothly. but overall i really liked it...although it really bothers me when they change things that could easily have been done according to the book, or when they add stuff....i just sit there and go....Thats not how it happened in the book! 🙂
