The meaning of life – from a scientific point of view – is nothing more interesting that to create low-entropy in the atmosphere.
For a species the meaning of life is just biological - to procreate, to have off-spring which then in turn has offspring and so on in an endless circle.
Obviously – for a self-conscious species as this ape homo sapiens – that is FAR from enough.
We don’t just do what our parents or ancestors did, get born, learn skills, do as they did and die. We can, from generation to generation, do something completely different, acquire skills and knowledges our parents didn’t have, and choose to live a completely different lifestyle.
But there IS no higher meaning to life – which is essentially what this thread asks.
Life is what we make of it.
Arachnoidfreak even brought out Ochams Razor: “Don't look for a complicated answer when a simple one will do.”
