I'm sorry, but if a 20 year old man has such a bad relationship with his own parents that he has to run away like that then I seriously doubt that this board is the most important thing on his mind.

Besides, he is an adult, not a child.... Any concerns people have, whilst very sweet, are probably unfounded.

I agree with Raz. I'm sure he'll check in at some point, from a coffee shop or something.

just wait until your kids do that to you; doesn't make a difference how old they are. They're still your kids. If he had told his parents he was heading out on an adventure, then there is normal concern for safety, not worried if he's alive or not. When a person just leaves, parents do worry.

I would hope that my relationship with my children wouldn't break down to such an extent that they would run away, at any age.

In this instance my concerns aren't really for Tex, but for the hell he is putting his parents through.

Then again, we really don't know that much about the child/parent relationship here. I guess my point is that someone who is 20 years of age should be capable of taking care of themselves.

I hope he does check in, I mean a lot of funky crapola can happen when you're on the road, from a random accident to an act of evil or malice. I just hope Tex is geared up to be able to avoid those kind of situations.

Can some one just give me a brief story on what is going on, and its the first time that I have cheked out this thread!

Don't forget he *did* bother to tell us he was off - so that does count for something!

Also we don't really know the relationship between him and his parents. You never know - he might have rung them up once he got to Seattle.
