USH'S MATRIX GAME FIFTH ASSIGNMENT (COMBAT PATH)- 'Payback'

Ah! Good thinking. Water Weapon is very useful here. Waste all the time you like- a Blocker is useless if you are not attacking him, so you have leisure to use such powers, and the more accurate your attacks, the better.

He'll do the Learned Tutor's Block again. However, you roll +3, Cloud! An 18 hits Sinister, and that attack did seven damage to him, as you cut firmly into the arm he was trying to block with!

Ok, he's going to try a Sacred Willow Push back at you.

My turn to use a learned tutor's block

He rolls +1... even with that being accurate, that's not enough and you block him.

He's not having that and uses Devious Monk Technique immediately, and he twists out of your grasp.

Leaves you two at:

Cloud: 9/26/5

Sinister: 3/16/3

So your attack.

I actually forgot I had that Devious monk technique. I'll use Hand of the Jade Emperor with Water Weapon.

Ah, but then you are the slower fighter, Cloud; Sinister can afford 3 frames for the DMT better than you can.

That one is quite nasty so he is going to Fox's Retreat. You roll -1... which means I am afraid you missed, but that puts you both on the same frame and you may attack again!

(I am letting you off a bit- on that first use- on attacking ahead of Sinister with the Water Weapon- remember if you are attacking with player privilege, as in you are on the same frame, Water Weapon costs a frame before your attack starts so that would mean that he gets his blow in first)

Damn! I keep forgetting! You cannot block with a sword out!

That being the case, I will give Sinister three frames back, and he attacks you with another Sacred Willow Push.

I'm reluctant to do this but if I can:
Deceptive blade strike
Strike of the snake
Claw of the tiger

I am afraid the Snake powers are not modifiers (too damn good otherwise) so it has to be either the Claw or the Strike.

And you may note you have an extra attack to deal with first.

Strike

And your defence against Sinister's attack?

I didn't see that, fox's retreat

+1 from Sinister; not good enough.

Then, your Blade flies up into the air, and you lash out with a lightning blow... Sinister will attempt yet another Learned Block on that.

Cloud, you roll +1; sadly, your impairment makes that a successful block by Sinister. However, the speed of your blow there means things look like this:

Cloud: 3/26/3

Sinister: 2/16/2

So it is your attack again, whilst blocked.

Do I have my sword?

Yup, you've caught it.

I shall use Roar of the Jade Emperor, I know it's predictable but if it hits...

In that case, Sinister will use an Angry Tutor rebuke, modified by Shaolin Sage Hand, to get a blow back. Defending against that?

That give him any bonus's to hit or damage?

It's accurate and cannot be actively dodged.

Fox's retreat?

Not enough focus for that after the Roar., so I guess you will have to let it come.

You roll +4, and an irritated Sinister is hit even though he dodged and it is predictable. That is another four damage to Sinister.

His return blow rolls +1; a hit, and four damage back to you; I am afraid that double impairs you!

Sinister will end the sequence with a standard punch.
