Novalis and the Blue Flower

I'm currently trying to figure out the exact meaning of Novalis' Blue Flower from his unfinished novel, Heinrich von Ofterdingen. Any of you guys experts on this matter?

I'm not sure, but isn't it a general symbol for poetry during romanticism and for all romantic yearning?

yes, it is. I posed the wrong question though. what I really needed to know was the details concerning the circumstances of Heinrich's finding the flower. found a nice link that helped me out there, and now all I need to learn is how to ask the right questions. but thanks for your reply! 🙂
