"That is so true. But I know Yerssot. He was perfectly capable for the outside world. Something had to have gone wrong when we split up."

"Yes..." sayd Kiel. "I intend to find out what that was... and stop those responsiblle from ever doing it again...."

"Our orders from the Jedi Council are to locate Kuylen's former padawan, Argentis," Gundark explained, holding a palm-sized holoprojector in front of Verlaine. She touched a tiny control and a vision of Argentis appeared. "Do you recognize him?"

"Never seen him before in my life..." says Verlaine. "Another one of your renegades, is he? A shame. Still, I suppose if he was KUYLEN'S apprentice we can expect nothing more...

"I realise it is not entirely regular to ask this of a Jedi, Master Gundark, but what do you intend to do about Faylar?"

"We need proof that Faylar is deliberately working to directly undermine the Republic itself. What about his financial backers ? There must be a money trail somewhere."

"You could spend your whole life trying to decipher the legality behind his Hutt deals," says Verlaine. "As I am sure you know, we aren't far from Nar Shadda here. But he keeps it all above board; doubly so now that Republic legislation does not apply.

"But he's made alot of his money internally, from Avalar."

"If Faylar and Kuylen have become mortal enemies, Argentis could be working with Faylar. " Gundark's gaze caught a maintenance droid working on ventilation shaft on a nearby building. "There must be a way into the city..."

"Oh, so this Argentis is not working WITH Kuylen? I see. Well, if he's not fallen, it's hard to see any Jedi wanting to work with a snake like Faylar.

"As for the city... well, I can take you to the front lines to have a look for yourself. Other than that, I really have no idea.!

"Do you have any security people planted inside Faylar's organization ?"

"Well, with K'rra Chi under occupation, we do have a number of contacts inside.

"But Faylar is sticking to the central palace, which has become unbelievably well fortified. We habve no idea what is going on in there."

"What about supply ships ?" Gundark asked. "Faylar has to be getting supplies, ammunitions...." she glanced at the droid again. "Any kind of maintenance vehicles that might normally allowed into K'rra Chi ?"

Mah walked along, trying to keep up with the contents of both of the conversations.

"NOTHING is allowed into K'rra Chi," says Verlaine. "We have it sealed off from the ground and the Republic blockade prevents anything else untowards getting in. Except for some humanitarian supplies."

"I don't suppose they would be delivered by a droid-operated vehicle ? Maybe a transport they wouldn't bother scanning ?

"Well, I don't know the full extent of the security on YOUR blockade," says Verlaine, pointedly, "but from what we know, and have been told, NO ships are allowed through without the clearance code, which only ships sent by the Jedi order or the Senate have. And yours in the only ship carrying weapons allowed through."

Lance and Master Kiel were walking silently next to eachother until:

"Master? How did you come to know of young Yerssot?"

"Oh, nothing special there," says Kiel. "He was my Padawan; the Council assigned him to me."

"Oh really? Strange thing, he never spoke to me of his master. I never knew who he was until now."

"Yerssot and myself... we disagreed on certain interpretations of the Code. I am not surprised that he does not talk much about me."

"I am so sorry about that. Me and my master where almost like father and son."
