Ok. First off, as far as the concern between Lily and Lupin goes...Lily's dead, so who cares if he loved her anyway? And besides, I don't think that he loved her anyway. I think what happened was that she was very nice to him and did not reject him for being a werewolf. She was, afterall, a very kind lady, who was even kind to Severus.

I'm not suggesting that any of my theories are fact, just suggesting my best guesses.
Also, I would agree with whoever said the hints at Ron and Hermione were foreshadowing, but that's very obviously going to come about in some form.
And I think Harry might die too, even though it would be terribly sad.
Lily and Lupin...
It has already been mentioned that there could be some clues in the third movie as to what is going to happen in the 6th book.
Well, when Lupin is talking to harry on the bridge while the others are in Hogsmeade. He mentions Lily in their discussion. He tells Harry that Lily helped him a lot. That she was there for him, when not many others were. That she saw beauty in others, beauty they could not see themselves and that she was very kind to him and everyone else.
I was just wondering what your opinion on this was. Do you think that maybe Lupin’s first friend at Hogwarts was Lily? Maybe she was the first one Lupin told about being a werewolf. Perhaps Lily helped Lupin to be more confident, so he was able to make friends with James and Sirius.
Maybe then, after he was friends with them, It was Lupin that introduced James to Lily, and helped them to become friends, you know since, Lily and Lupin were already friends....
Maybe we will find more out in the sixth book, since there is a rumor that we will find out more about the marauders in book 6 and 7.

I agree with your theory. Anything with Lupin almost always relates to him being a werewolf, so that would most likely be what he was referring to -- Lily keeping his secret..
But I think it could be something much deeper than that... I just can't think this late at night 😛

But also don't forget that JK had to agree with everything in the movies, and she lets Lupin say that thing about lily(I swear I screamed in the cinema when he said it!!!)
But I don't think that Lily was Lupins' first friend at hogwarts, because of that chapter in OotP. Lily is yelling at James and Sirius, and ignores Lupin and he ignores her... And that's just not what friends do.
