Which means that month the most popular were Superman & Batman by a mile , no contest.
Well, Jim Lee is drawing Superman 204-216, so im not surprised if those do better than the rest of DC. and Brian Azzarello is writing them, very good combo.
Michael Turner is drawing Superman/Batman and Jeph Loeb is writing it. Goddamn, Michael Turner knows how to draw Supergirl...and Wonder Woman...and just about any other female character ever(i think that has something to do with the sales)
Brian Michael Bendis is(was) writing Ult. Fantastic Four. I think that's the only reason its so high up. Andy Kubert drew 1-6.
Personally im waiting for the 1602 paperback, i heard its a good series.
Spiderman is Spiderman, he's going to be in the top 5 every month. I bought that issue too.
I think Batman is tops, Follow by Superman in popular contest for DC
As for Marvel
Maybe Spiderman right now, but that has more to do with Spiderman 2 coming out, (And the support of the first movie.)
Before the Spiderman movie, X-Men's Wolverine was number 1, He might have been selling X-Men by his name alone????
Than Spiderman, But I perfer DD over Spiderman.
As for comics sales, It depends, ME I go by stoires, life is to short to read a bad comic.
I skim thown the comics, and if they have good Art work, a good plot, and anything else I by it.
I did not get most of No man's land becuase I could not get over the art work, But I a Batman fan still. But Knightfall had great art work in it. Got most of the comics from that story, but am missing a few comics from it.
So I went ahead and bought the 3 books that has most of the comics in it.
Book 3 skips though a whole lot of story line. Like how did Wayne walk again?? I know the answer but I never read the comic.
One month I bought a Wonder Woman comic over Batman, because again the story art work ete. It depends on what they have out in that month or so.
now you don't expect a fan base to be the determinante of who is currently the most popular. Also Rogue popularity is directly related to Wolverine and his fan base in the comics, and to the X-men both tv, comic and movie. Im not saying her book will stay popular or even become permenant, mabey if they give her back her Ms. Marvel powers it will be cool.
Also a sleeper i think is Colossus. When i talk about the movie with pep. everyone mentions the steel guy. Marvel has a way of making reintroductions by getting rid of the character for a bit.
