James and Lily

Harry's parents thread...

I thought it was kinda interesting to find out that they hadn't gotten along so well while they went to school together. Definitely an eye opening expierence for Harry.

I think it was pretty good actually that James wasn't as perfect as we thought when he was a teenager. I must say I think what he and Sirius did to Snape was awful, but I quite like that part in the pensive. It's funny to go back in time.

I hadn't imagined James to be so arrogant, but still I really liked that part too. It all seemed to be so easy to do to James and his friends as if everything they tried would work at first attempt. By the way has anyone got an idea how you can create something like the Marauder's map or how people become Animagi???

the part about james and lilly was my fav part in the whole book cuz theyre hardly ever mentioned anywhere else in the book....it kinda annoys me that harry doesnt ask any questions about his parents i mean if it were me i would be curious as hell.

I can't believe Snape could have been humilitated like that as a child, I just never pictured it, but it explains why Snape is so bitter towards Harry.

what did James and Lily do ?

what did they do that they could leave that much money for harry?😕

good question but i have no idea

maybe they were unspeakables it's good connection to the vail and their 3 encounters with voldemort.
the fortune was from james side because he was very respected pure blood with very long family line.

JK Rowling said that James had inherited the bank vault contents, so he did not need a high paying job. Perhaps Lily and James were Aurors. They were in the Order of the Phoenix which seems to be the better anti-Voldemort organisation.

yeah, jk said. i am not sure whether they were registered aurors. we dunno much bout them, maybe they were really unspeakable.
james wasnt THAT good in school, wasnt he?
hmmm....
one question.... which job does lupin have?

It's difficult for werewolves to get payed work, especially with that abominable Umbridge in an important position.

yeah o course, but from which money does he live?

Perhaps wizards are not so dependent on substantial food to survive as muggles are? I expect they could use their wands to make some food out of nothing.

Their innate magic stops bludgers from hurting them seriously. Maybe they don't starve as muggles would.

he may have been pure blood b4 he got bitten so inheritted the family welth

how do you think james and lily escaped voldy 3times?

ran i suppose

It says in book 3 that james and sirius were best at everything they did, and top of the class.

Lily and James didn't escape Vopldemort thrice, they defied him. Back then, he was trying to "persuade" wizards to join him (with letters and by sending his supporters to them or so), but of course the Potters didn't. I guess he tried thrice...Maybe it was his supporters that they escaped from.

but how??
