He's alright. Great technique, not so great music.

Everyone likes what they like, obviously.

Well, that's a given, thanks for saying I have great buys though, I already knew that I rule, but sometimes it's good to hear it from mortals every now and then, y'know?

Which part? (are you wrong about)
Surfing With an Alien is a guitar masterpiece. Unlike most solo guitarist, Satch doesn't really wank, he has great song structures and variation. I think a testament to his great songwriting is that so many of his students became famous for the stuff they would create. Skolnick (great metal and jazz and classical guitarist), the guy from Counting Crows, Hammett, Larry Lalonde (created death metal and is great at funk), Steve Vai (can be a wanker but can also write very structured songs ie. his Whitesnake era), etc. Flying In a Blue Dream and the Extremist are also excellent. Opinion I guess though.

Yeah, it is.

I do like the Surfing with the Alien album, but I didn't even notice it on the page. I was really referring to Not of This Earth, which I wasn't too keen on.

I've actually always preferred Vai.

Then I could agree. Not of This Earth is definitely sub-par when compared to his other stuff.

Passion and Warfare is excellent, but I think that he is descending into wankery these days. Put, he definitely did great work with Zappa and Roth and Whitesnake.

Witchcraft's The Alchemist

I just picked up Splendor Solice by Tea Party, and Blind by The Sundays.

That it is! Selling England by the pound and Foxtrot are the best 2 they have to offer though imo. I love everything from Trespass to Wind and Wuthering though...And then there were three is ok and so is duke, but anything after that is ...not for me.
