I must agree with QuincE on this. I'm getting quite tired of RPing with some of the new people, in fact.

Tails x 20 is probably one of the better new members in this forum. He at least was willing and eager to change.

I honestly think that a social thread would be a great help. It wouldstop a bunch of spam and also allow members to advise their fellow members. Few people actual check this thread.
Not just a social thread- a social sub-forum! An off-topic rpg thread so to speak. A sub-forum would be great for us, we could each have threads for friends, a complete roleplay discussion, advice on role-playing, and what i've been hoping we could have eventually- roleplay awards. I've asked Ush this a while back, and he might be willing to go along if there is a high enough demand.

Sentences, with verbs, adjs.nouns!!! No little ** are need neither -- are needed to RP!! That's for online chatting or just making a quick emote in a thread....NOT FOR RP!!! Think of writing a story. That is what RP is! You're writing a story together with other people. *sigh* (See that is where stars are needed..not in an role play.)You obviously missed the point.
A text RP is just that. Text. Players can't just state -cut off arm- ow!. It creates no picture. Unlike Gaia Online or Ragnarok Online, we do not have visuals. Thus, it is important that we actually describe the situation. We have to create the visuals through our text.
So instead of -cut off arm- ow!, write out what's happening.
Justin was leaping towards the beast, sword in hand. He just hoped that he would be able to reach the others in time. As it was, Chris was too paralyzed by fear to defend himself. As he raced forwards, Justin battled his own fear. In his entire life he had never seen anything as monstrous as the creature jumping towards his friend, and never had he felt that his life was in jeopardy. But he couldn't run away now. Chris was unarmed, and the monster was gaining. What use was his training as a warrior if he couldn't help the helpless. That in mind, Justin continued to rush the beast. Clearing the trees, he let a war cry rip from his throat and his gleaming blade bite into the disgusting flesh of his opponent.
See, it creates a story.
RP awards have been done before, they don't actually necessitate a sub forum.
The thing with the sub forum is that it needs Raz's say so, so not only is it very helpful to have my backing, you need to convince him that it is in any way worthwhile to create.
I think it's best if I kick off with a social thread and see how things develop from there.
I am very much up against time right now- barely updating my own games, let alone checking for new ideas and moderating this place- but I am planning to finally codify these guidelines as soon as I have a bit of time free.
well now looks like I walked in right at the wrong time didn't I.
One question still lingers on these lips of mine. How would these 'RP awards' be set up?
Ok maybe it was two questions. And how would the winners be chosen?
With so amny people about it would be pretty hard unless there was a vote but that could be unfair for example if someone was more popular then the other then.....well you get where I am coming from
