about those 5 points - aren't they really a little much for often just some minutes of difference? I think as long as the entries are submitted in time, the date should not influence the judging so much. It would be better to give some points directly to the house as its a matter of, hm, discipline inn-intern, but does NOT change the quality of the signature.

The 5 points doesn't affect who actually comes first in the challenge itself-- it's a seperate set of points added to the house's total. Remember the scoring scheme is all that judges the winner, and the extra 5 points won't be included in that..
