I am saying maybe the devil, likes when you stare at the moon.

i am saying did anyone speak to the devil, then write it down in a book that the devil likes it when you stare at the moon 😐 😉 😂

I am saying I dont know, I read it a 'moon spell' book. but actually if the moon appears like its larger or getting closer its because its set equally to the horizon your find that many times when the moon first appears in the evening sky, it seems larger. but thats only because it is level with the horizon but as night proceeds the moon becomes higher in the sky and will appear smaller.

i am saying that sounds very interesting, ima go find more info on that, thanks 🙂

i am saying that (from http://www.necrobabes.org/duana/howl.html )

"The moon has long been a mysterious and compelling force. Since humans first swung down from the trees, the moon has colored our myths, mystified us, and filled our imaginations. It is a force that moves our oceans, effects our reproduction phases, guides our future, and even influences the way that we think. It has been personified in mythology, been worshiped by humans the world over and is steeped in symbolism and mysticism.

The Moon's Phases

The moon is earth's closest relative in the galaxy. It orbits the earth about every 29.5 days. During this monthly cycle it wans and waxes from New Moon to Full Moon and back to New Moon again. As the earth turns, our sister in the sky pulls at our oceans causing tides to rise and fall. During New and Full Moons, the sun and moon line up with the earth, causing Spring Tides from their combined gravitational pull. These tides are much more extreme. The reason we only see one side of the moon (the old man on the moon's face), is because the moon is locked in a rotation that takes the same amount of time for it to spin on its axis as it does to orbit the earth.

Physical Influences

We know that the moon affects the earth and its bodies of water greatly through the law of attraction and repulsion. But, does it have any influence over Earth's inhabitants? This has long been a great debate, but still remains unproved one way or an other. Still scientists would argue that the moon does influence animals and human beings. Surely it must affect the creatures that dwell in the oceans. And it is true that nocturnal predators, such as the wolf use the light of the full moon with which to hunt, as did our early ancestors. Agricultural societies have long planted and harvested during certain phases in the moon to ensure fruitful crops.

Lunacy

The human body is made up of 94% water. It would stand to reason then, if the moon affects huge oceans, that it would have some influence over us. Although scientists have been inconclusive in finding that criminal behavior rises during a full moon, people working in the medical and law inforcement professions report higher incidences of 911 calls, increased rates of violent crimes, murder, vandalism, arson and suicide, while emergency rooms swell to full capacity. There are also more reported cases of sleep disorders such as sleep walking. People become more restless and agitated during a Full Moon. They feel a strange intensity or connection with it, as if an unexplained serge of energy were rushing through them, and are apt to do bizarre things that is totally out of character for them.

This is where the word lunacy came from, which means, "under the influence of the moon." Today the word ‘lunacy' or ‘lunatic' refers to someone who is mad. Lunatic asylums observed that mental disturbances often increased on nights when the moon was full. It was through this belief that people associated the full moon with madness and also with lycanthropy.

Lycanthropy

Wolves and their human-wolf counterparts—werewolves—have always had a strong association with the full moon. Wolves, coyotes and their close relatives the dog, often howl at a full moon. But, did werewolves ever really exist?

There are many explanations for werewolves or lycanthropies. One explanation is that Ergot, which is a fungus that grew on rye crops, was consumed by poor families during the Middle Ages in Europe. Ergot contains lyseric acid, and poisoning includes hallucinations similar to LSD. People during this time reported delusions such as being attacked by beasts, night terror, and feelings that their bodies were not under their own control. Other symptoms of ergot poisoning included shakes and convulsions, lightheadedness, confusion, panic attacks, involuntary rolling of the eyes, an inability to speak, extreme thirst, and an uncontrollable appetite. This, combined with the tingling sensations in the scalp and extremities known as ‘St. Anthony's Fire', could have been rationalized as shape-shifting, and may have caused the mass hallucinations that contributed to the werewolf hysteria. Erogtism often resembled lycanthropic behavior, and could have been observed as similar to rabies. Perhaps this is were the belief that werewolves transmitted their disease by bite.

To continue this theory, the ‘magic salve' used by witches to transform into wolves was also a strong hallucinogenic. It was usually rubbed onto the skin, and then absorbed into the bloodstream. Person's under the salve's mind-altering affects could have easily imagined themselves to be were-creatures.

But, what about modern-day people who believe themselves to have the ability to change into a wolf? This may be explained by Temporal Lobe Seizures and how they affect the brain and human behavior. The temporal lobe controls the body's sensations, and if irritated can cause temporary paralysis, a sensation of fear, and hysterical (dissociative) state, such as hallucinations. These seizures can lead to fixed delusions such as persons believing themselves to be wolves. It is believed that these seizures may be responsible for sleep paralysis, lycanthropy, and may also support the beliefs that people were being visited by the devil. Persons suffering from lycantropic hysteria have been known to grow their hair and fingernails and often suffer from pica, which is the craving for unnatural food such as grass, mud or cloth.

History of Werewolves

The belief that human beings could transform themselves into wolves began back in our pagan history. Almost every culture at one time supported this myth, and early tribes who worshiped some form of a wolf-god would wear wolf-skins and use wolf-fangs as amulets, believing that they had the power to transform into these predatory, nocturnal creatures. The Gaulish Diana, "Lupa", was worshiped as the mother of wold animals, and had many followers from ancient to medieval France.

Back then, the wolf was an animal who was held in high regard for their cunningness, ferocity and skill as hunters, and warriors would dress in the wolf pelts believing that in doing so, they would acquire the wolf's characteristics.

In the middle ages, the wolf became a symbol of evil and the devil, as it was responsible for killing farmer's livestock. This hate for the wolf intensified until it became a hysteria, when many people in Europe were put to death for being accused as werewolves, similar to that of the witch trials.

Moon Goddess Myths

The name Lycanthropy comes from the God, Apollo Lycaeus, "Wolfish Apollo". Apollo was the twin of Artemis (and also lover), an Amazon goddess who was worshiped for her hunting skills.
Artemis was referred to as the "Virgin Goddess of the Moon". She ruled the hunt and was fabled to ride the heavens' in a chariot shooting silver moonbeams during the vulnerable hours of childbearing.

Deities have been identified with the moon since ancient times and many of these have been worshiped as Goddesses. Though their titles may change in every culture, their abilities, symbolism and dominions remain very similar. She has been called by the names Isis (Egypt), Ishtar (Mesopotamia), Aphrodite, Hectate (both Greece), Venus, Diana, Luna (all Roman), Freya (Norse), Ceres, Morrigan, Demeter, and many others. Moon Goddesses have symbolized the hunt, the cycle of birth, death and rebirth, ruled planting and harvesting, and are both healer and slayer.

The Moon Goddess today is worshiped by wiccans as the Triple Goddess which represents the three aspects of the moon: Maiden, Mother, and Crone. This trinity is seen in the different phases of the waxing moon, the full moon, and the waning moon. The Triple Goddess symbolizes change, the cycles of life and death, fertility , and reigns over wisdom, mystery, the unconscious mind, childbirth, emotions and dreams.

In the Tarot, the Moon card symbolizes occult, the darkness of the unknown, change, female mysteries, creation and destruction, regeneration, unconscious desires, menstrual cycle, bleeding at the dark moon, and magnetism into watery realms. The Moon is the symbol of the constant cycle of monthly change.

Feminine Moon

Why has the moon been an enduring symbol of woman and the power of creation? Well, the answer is rather obvious. As the moon goes through her monthly cycles of waning and waxing, so do women go through their monthly reproductive cycle. Women have the power of creation through birth. The word menses, comes from the Latin "mensis", meaning months. In many cultures the menstrual blood was believed to have rejuvenation qualities, and has been called "soma" among Hindus, ambrosia, and wise blood. Clinical statistics have proved that there are higher frequency of births at full and new moon periods.

It is also known that many animals rely on the moons monthly cycles to reproduce, such as some species of fish, the night swallow, and sea urchins, and that the moon influences the pineal gland in lower forms of life. Perhaps as we evolved, our biological function, reproduction, became harmonized environmentally with our moon, following its lunar cycle.

Although many of the myths about the moon and its influences over human kind remains obscure, the moon itself will remain a mystical icon with a profound and enigmatic power over human life. "
