Another clue for Spider-Man 3.....

Okay, we can speculate all we want about Spider-Man 3, but you all know that I'm all for The Lizard being in Spider-Man 3 and NOT Venom (he should be in 4 - for reasons I have gone over a million times).

Just recently I was taking a look at the details concerning the Spider-Man 2 video game. What strikes me as odd is that The Lizard has been removed from the game (after he was confirmed to be in it for a long time). Now this got me thinking, what would make the developers remove The Lizard from the Spider-Man 2 game? One obvious reason is that The Lizard may be up for the role of the head villain in the NEXT movie, and as a consequence, the game developers couldn't use him as a low-level thug in one game, then in the sequel (which will obviously be out when the 3rd film is) has him as a major villain?

Couple this with the fact there have been massive rumours concerning the Venom-symbiote being in Spidey 3 (not Venom himself, and not dismissing the Lizard rumours either) then it's pointing quite clearly that The Lizard will be in Spidey 3.

Think about it, they know Venom is huge, they know his character takes time to be "born". They know they need to ADVERTISE him. If they merely have Eddie Brock and the venom-symbiote in 3 (not Venom), this would make an awesome cliff-hanger for people to go see 4 (and make 4 one of the first movies to make the "fourth" film better than all the rest).

i had tough time readin what you had to say coz of your sig....and people wonder why they say robin is gay....i think the lizard is gonna be in the next film as the villian too becuase Dr. Conners is in the movie..i dont think Eddie Brock is plus they had an article in the newspaper with Sam Raimi coz he grew up in the area where i live and said that

and the only villains that are allowed into spider-man movies are ones that are connected to peter in some way. goblin: harrys dad. octopus: peters teacher. lizard: peter and conners used to do experiments together

Fantastic.

I'm a huge fan of Venom, I love the big slobbering oaf to bits, but having Venom in 3 wouldn't make sense for business and my own personal reasons.

With business you gotta think long-term. If they tease Venom, by having the Eddie and Symbiote storyline in 3, they will guarantee that the 4th movie would be the best thing since sliced bread, and will please Venom fans such as myself because they gave him a suitable gestation period.

I seriously wanna see the second movie now, just to see how much they tease The Lizard for 3. If they tease Curt Conners experiments a lot, then it's safe to assume he'll kick it off in Spidey 3.

Well Venom is probably the MOST PERSONAL of the lot.

The symbiote itself - knows Spider-Mans weaknesses, his identity, has his powers. Hates Peter Parker, knows where he lives.

Eddie Brock - Rival photographer to Peter, blames Spider-Man for all the trouble that befalls him.

That's why I always considerred Dock Ock, Gobby, Lizard and Venom to be the greatest villains in Spider-Man. The Quartet of Cool.

man i hope there not gonna make harry osbourne the next villian...he has a bigger role in the 2nd one which means somethin major is probly gonna happen with that charactor...if they put Dr Conners in that film just for a cameo i'm gonna be pissed 😠

First off--this is a great thread, and really enjoyable to read. Also, your signature is friggen awesome--I hope you guys are right about all this-and hopefully watching S2 will give me some answers instead of more questions--I would love to see Venom on the big-screen, and I want them to do it right. The sooner the better, but I wouldn't be averse to waitng 4 or even 6 more years to preserve some chronology. I think it's a shame to waste such great characters by under-developing or otherwise compromising them. I'm not seeing the movie until Saturday, but I really am starting to get excited about it.

i rented Secret Window and it had a long preview of spider-man 2 and it showed Conner talkin to Pete and it got me thinkin that he's too big of a charactor to not have in the 3rd one...i mean everyone knows that conner is the lizard so even if they make harry the next villian in the spidey 3 why do they have to take out the lizard...what i'm tryin to say is why not have both of them as villians in the next film

look its not ganne be the lizard becuase there putting it in the 2nd game as a side character like shocker, y would they do that when they could of just made the third game with the main villian the lizerd?

My son Brendan would LOVE to see more of Conners. He loves the Lizard. He is fairly compelling--the guy is a genius and a train wreck at the same time.

I must say I'm extremly dissapointed that they took The Lizard out of the game. But I'm glad now because it's obvious that The Lizard will be the villain. I'm going to search up rumors on the net.

Also I wish they'll give Harry a different Goblin costume, it will be boring seeing the same suit.

Dude, didn't I say they took Lizard out of the game - its why I posted the thread in the first place. Game developers with licenses have a strong relationship with the licensees because they can basically tell the game developers what can and can't be put into a game.

Taking out The Lizard after it was confirmed he'd be in it is incredibly fishy. They have been told to take out the Lizard by someone, and all signs point to the people that hold him as an asset, namely Sony who make the movies. Conclusion? Sony don't want him in the 2nd Spidey game as a low-level boss - he's obviously meant for bigger and better things. 😉

And about Venom, yes, I'd love to see Venom on screen ASAP, but I'm not naive enough to think they'd do it properly without the proper buildup.

The thing is, if Venom is gonna be in it at all, we'll see Eddie in 3 for sure if The Lizard is the villain. As long as we SEE Eddie (and/or the symbiote) we KNOW Venom is next in line - so why would ANY of us not be smiling our asses off when we leave the theatres after Spiderman 3?

For me anyway, keeping Venom until the fourth film will keep the ineterst in the series at top-level boiling point, especially if 3 ends in a cliffhanger where we KNOW Venom is in 4 - imagine the hype for Spiderman 4 if this happened?

It's a case of not giving the audience what they want all the time. The audience demands Venom, but people don't always know what's best for them.

yea but the thing that worries me is the harry osbourne factor...there really started to build on his hatred for spider-man and you can tell from the previews that him and parkers relationship is goin downhill so this tells me that there gonna make harry find out about his dad pretty soon and become a villian...but i still say the lizard will be in 3..Conners is too much of a player just to have as a cameo

Yeah, if they use Harry as the villain that would suck. Harry's Green Goblin isn't even that popular with Spider-Man fans anyway, everyone knows he was lame. It's gonna be repeating the same stuff we've seen a million times on DVD anyway. I'm sure they know they've gotta mix it up a little. There were TONS of villains in between Normans Goblin and Harrys Goblin in the comics, many years went by. In the movies, we'll have had ONE villain go past, and a few years go by, between Norman and Harrys Goblins. It'll seem to soon, too close together.

I hope they tinker with Harry's character a bit. Harry was so under-developed in the comics it wasn't even funny, he never even got super-powers when he becomes the Goblin. He's flying around on a glider without super-powers, and can STAY ON IT? That in itself is laughable.

For me, the best thing they could do, if they really insist on having Harry as a villain, is to pair him up with The Lizard.

WAIT! Yes I know pairring up villains is a bad idea, but here it would work, especially if The Lizard was still the MAIN bad guy, and harry somehow turns into the next Green Goblin, but is less active in his role, and acts more like a master manipulator of The Lizard. I don't think people would be up for seeing Green Goblin vs Spidey again, especially considerring all the best and most memorable Goblin scenes were re-created in the first movie (the bridge, the bit with Goblin dragging Pete by the rope etc).

I don't know what's gonna happen with Harry. I'd rather him just stay as Harry Osbourne, and become a crime lord/kingpin type character, and therefore manipulates the likes of The Lizard and stuff. Maybe he could take the Goblin serum, so he's insane and super-powered.

I'd rather just see The Lizard, to be honest. Throw Harry of a tall building Spider-Man.
